Changzhou Engineering Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1958 and is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of the Yangtze River. It was formed in 2002 by the merger of Changzhou Chemical Industry School of Jiangsu Province and Jiangsu Building Materials Industry School. It covers an area of 833.07 acres and has a construction area of 366,700 square meters. The school adheres to the school motto of "inspiration and practice", adheres to the school-running positioning of "based in Changzhou, serving Jiangsu, and radiating the Yangtze River Delta", and is oriented to "green and intelligent" technology. It has established 7 secondary colleges and 43 enrollment majors, focusing on the creation of five major professional groups of applied chemical technology, intelligent welding, intelligent construction, inspection and testing certification, and digital business services, and cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for green chemical industry, high-end equipment manufacturing, inspection and testing certification, modern construction and other industries. The school is a construction unit of high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics, a national high-quality higher vocational college, a pilot college for the diagnosis and improvement of teaching work in national vocational colleges, the first batch of 1+X certificate system pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education, and a construction unit of high-level higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province. There are 2 national key majors, 6 backbone majors in the action plan for the innovative development of higher vocational education, 1 pilot major for the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, 4 high-level professional groups above the provincial level, 2 provincial brand majors, 5 provincial high-level backbone majors, 4 provincial characteristic majors, 4 national quality courses, 89 courses connected to the national smart education platform, 3 national professional teaching resource libraries, 1 central government-supported higher vocational training base, 3 production-oriented training bases in the action plan for the innovative development of higher vocational education, selected as the top 30 innovation and entrepreneurship colleges in the country, selected as a typical case of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges in the country, and built a provincial college student innovation education experimental base, a provincial college student innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base, a provincial mass entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base, and a provincial Chinese excellent traditional culture inheritance base. There are more than 14,400 full-time students and more than 5,000 adult education students. The average annual social training is 30,000 people and the vocational skills appraisal is more than 6,000 people. There are 710 faculty members, including 599 full-time teachers, 286 associate professors and above, and 111 doctors (including 25 students). There are 2 national-level teaching innovation teams, 10 provincial-level excellent teaching teams, 3 provincial-level science and technology innovation teams, 1 provincial vocational education "double-teacher" famous teacher studio, 1 provincial vocational education skills inheritance and innovation platform, and 104 talents of various types such as famous teachers (masters) and principals of new-era vocational schools, national technical experts, provincial teaching masters, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in the province, provincial "333" and "Qinglan Project", Jiangsu craftsmen, and Jiangsu technical experts. The school continues to deepen the reform of "three teachings" and accurately cultivate outstanding technical and skilled talents of "double highs and three types" (high character, superb skills, compound, innovative, and international). The achievements of the construction of chemical engineering professional training bases based on the concept of "four combinations and six integrations", the construction of the "55821" internal quality assurance system, the reform of project-based curriculum teaching, and the construction of a lifelong education system in the petrochemical industry have won 3 first prizes and 7 second prizes in the National Teaching Achievement Award, 2 special prizes, 3 first prizes, and 8 second prizes in the Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, and 1 first prize in the first national teaching material achievement award. 16 textbooks for the 14th Five-Year Plan, 4 national vocational education boutique online courses, and 3 national teaching resource libraries have been approved. The "4+0" and "3+2" provincial modern vocational education system construction pilot projects have been carried out with undergraduate colleges such as Changzhou Institute of Technology, Changzhou University, Jiangsu Institute of Technology, and Huaiyin Institute of Technology to explore the cultivation of technical and skilled talents at the undergraduate level. Students have won more than 145 first prizes in provincial and above competitions, including 14 consecutive championships in the Chemical Production Technology Competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition; won the gold medal of the 7th China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the gold medal of the 13th "Challenge Cup" China College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, and the first prize of the TRIZ Cup National College Student Innovation Method Competition. In the past five years, the enrollment plan completion rate, new student registration rate, corresponding single recruitment admission score, graduation destination implementation rate, salary, and personal development satisfaction have ranked among the top in the province. In 2023, more than 100 listed companies came to the school for recruitment, and more than 90% of graduates were employed in the "Yangtze River Delta" region. The average monthly income of graduates is 5,007 yuan, and the starting salary of 21 majors exceeds 5,000 yuan. It has been rated as "A-level colleges and universities for quantitative supervision of college graduate employment work" in Jiangsu Province for three consecutive years, and won the honorary title of Jiangsu Province College Graduate Employment and Entrepreneurship Work Assessment Excellent Unit and other honorary titles. The school continues to innovate the school-enterprise cooperation mechanism and deeply promote the integration of production and education. Together with CRRC Corporation and other units, we initiated the establishment of the National Rail Transit Equipment Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, participated in the construction of Changzhou City New Energy Industry-Education Consortium, took the lead in establishing the National Floor Industry Industry-Education Integration Community and the National New Energy Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, Changzhou Synthetic Biology City Consortium and Changzhou Inspection, Testing and Certification City Consortium. Together with the China Inspection and Quarantine Scientific Research Institute, Jiangsu Inspection and Quarantine Quality Research Center, and China Inspection and Testing Society, we jointly established the Changzhou Inspection, Testing and Certification College; together with the China Chemical Education Association, we jointly established the National Open University Petroleum and Chemical Industry College; we took the lead in establishing the National Inspection, Testing and Certification Vocational Education Group, the National Modern Welding Vocational Education Group, the National Medical Construction Vocational Education Alliance, and the Yangtze River Delta Green Chemical Industry and Pharmaceutical Integrated Development Vocational Education Alliance. Together with Harbin Welding Research Institute of the General Research Institute of Mechanical Science, Shanghai Urban Construction and Municipal Engineering (Group), CRRC Corporation, China Shipbuilding Corporation, JD Group, China Inspection Bondi, Beijing Oriental Simulation and other large institutes and leading enterprises, we jointly built 12 industrial colleges, 20 provincial training platforms, and 3 national training platforms, attracting a total investment of 96.8 million yuan from enterprises. The school has implemented 56 modern apprenticeship projects, 36 order classes (including 1 national modern apprenticeship pilot) and 2 field engineer projects with industry leaders such as SGS, Sinomach Changlin Co., Ltd. The school continues to promote scientific and technological innovation and efficiently provide high-quality technical services. There are 25 scientific and technological innovation and service platforms of various types, including 2 collaborative innovation centers for the action plan for innovative development of higher vocational education, 4 provincial engineering centers, 2 provincial service platforms, and 3 municipal key laboratories. The annual "four skills" service payment exceeds 50 million yuan, and the scientific research payment exceeds 20 million yuan, ranking first among higher vocational colleges in the province for many consecutive years. As a supporting unit of the National Natural Science Foundation, it is one of the few higher vocational colleges in the province that are qualified to independently apply for and undertake National Natural Science Foundation projects. The number of key scientific research tasks such as National Natural Science Foundation projects, Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation projects, and Jiangsu Key R&D Plan projects are among the top in the province. It has the only provincial technology transfer center with contract certification qualifications in higher vocational colleges, and the annual achievement transformation payment is 12 million yuan. It has been ranked among the top 50 service contributions of higher vocational colleges in China for four consecutive years. The school adheres to the path of open education and steadily advances the process of internationalization. It has established international exchange platforms such as the Sino-German Vocational Education and Science and Technology Innovation Service Center, and was selected as the first batch of construction units of the "2020 Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Talent Training Base in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing" of the Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education. Sino-foreign cooperative education platforms such as the Mandalay Branch in Myanmar, the Sino-German School of Design and Digital Media, the Yalong Silk Road College in Cambodia, and the Sino-German International Welding Technology Training and Examination Center have been established. The order education project implemented in cooperation with Sino-Myanmar Nickel Industry (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. was selected into the "Study in Jiangsu" Excellent Talent Selection Program (TSP), and the Pakistan "Zheng He Center" project was selected into the "1113" project of the Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office. A total of more than 300 academic students have been enrolled, covering 21 source countries. The school has introduced 10 international professional qualification certificates and standards, including ISO9606 international welder assessment standards and Australian TAFE construction engineering technology courses, and carried out UK NARIC international professional certification for three majors, including applied chemical technology. It has been approved as a direct test site for the HSK level test of Hanban, and has been rated as one of the top 50 Chinese vocational colleges in the world in terms of global competitiveness. It has developed and exported 12 professional and professional standards to four African countries, including Tanzania and Gambia, and built a number of overseas teacher workstations and overseas talent training bases in Pakistan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh and other countries. It has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 40 schools in countries such as Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
