Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1933. It is the only national demonstrative higher vocational college in the province, a construction unit of high-level vocational schools and high-level professional groups ("double high plan") with Chinese characteristics, and currently has 18,326 full-time higher vocational students. The school was formerly the "Guangdong Provincial No. 1 Vocational School", and has a 90-year history of vocational education.
