Guangxi Police College is a general undergraduate college organized by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is an important talent training base for public security, procuratorate, courts, and other political and legal organs. The school is under the jurisdiction of the Public Security Department, and its education and teaching business is guided by the Education Department. It is the only public security undergraduate college in Guangxi. Its predecessor was the Political Training Team of the Social Department of the Guangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China established in January 1950. It has successively experienced the Guangxi Provincial Public Security School, Guangxi Public Security Cadre School, Guangxi Political and Legal Public Security School, Guangxi Political and Legal Cadre School, Guangxi People's Police School and Guangxi Public Security Management Cadre College. In 2003, it was restructured into the Guangxi Police Officer College and upgraded to the Guangxi Police College in 2015. In 2018, according to the decision and deployment of the autonomous region, the establishment of the Guangxi Political and Legal Management Cadre College was cancelled, and the school resources were merged into the Guangxi Police College. The school has three campuses in Xianhu, Wuhe, and Changhu, as well as the Beihai Training Base, covering an area of 727,700 square meters, with a school building area of 477,600 square meters and a teaching and administrative area of 171,100 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 88.7572 million yuan. The library has a collection of 1.4458 million paper books and 672,200 electronic books. There are 95 on-campus experimental training sites, 89 off-campus practical teaching bases, 2 Guangxi University Key Laboratory Cultivation Bases, 4 Guangxi Undergraduate University Characteristic Majors and Experimental Training Teaching Bases, and 1 Autonomous Region Demonstration Modern Industrial College. The faculty currently has 965 faculty members, including 579 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 30.05% have senior professional titles, and 75.65% have master's degrees or above. Among the teachers, there are 37 experts and famous teachers such as experts who enjoy special allowances from the State Council, experts with ministerial allowances in the public security system, national outstanding teachers, and national outstanding teachers in the public security system, and 67 instructors appointed by the Autonomous Region Public Security Department. There are currently 11,400 full-time students in talent training. The school offers 23 undergraduate majors, covering five disciplines: law, engineering, management, science, and art. It has one national first-class undergraduate course, 16 autonomous region first-class undergraduate courses, seven autonomous region first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and two Guangxi key disciplines. Since its upgrade to undergraduate, it has won seven autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards, and 429 students have won awards in various competitions at the provincial and ministerial levels and above. From 2021 to 2023, it has been rated as an outstanding unit for employment and entrepreneurship of ordinary college graduates in the region for three consecutive years. Scientific research focuses on carrying out applied scientific research, and has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the public security bureaus of 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi to establish an interactive education mechanism of "school-bureau-institute". Focusing on the needs of Guangxi's public security and political and legal work, the Police Science Research Institute and 14 characteristic research institutions closely related to the industry have been established to carry out research on practical topics serving the public security. Relying on the school, the Autonomous Region Law Society has established five secondary discipline research associations, including the Guangxi Public Security Law Research Association. Since 2018, 73 academic works have been published; 4 national social science fund projects, 22 provincial and ministerial projects, and 317 prefectural and departmental projects have been undertaken; and 13 provincial and ministerial awards have been won. The school of social services actively serves the construction of local rule of law. It is the Guangxi local legislation research, evaluation and consulting service base determined by the Autonomous Region People's Congress, the local legislation consulting service base of the Standing Committee of the Nanning Municipal People's Congress, and the local legislation research, evaluation and consulting service base of the Guigang Municipal People's Congress. The Guangxi Public Judicial Appraisal Center under the school is both a social service agency and a teaching, scientific research and collaborative education platform. It has been rated as one of the top ten judicial appraisal institutions in Guangxi. The school gives full play to the functions of educating police, stationing police, and assisting police. Teachers and students have participated in the security of large-scale events such as the 7th World Military Games in Wuhan, the China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, and the Tour of Guangxi Road Cycling World Tour over the years. It is an important reserve force for the security of major national and autonomous region events. As the Guangxi Police Officer Training Center, it has trained more than 30,000 public security and legal talents of various types, including on-the-job police officers, deputy principals of law in primary and secondary schools, in the past three years. International Exchanges The school has established the China-ASEAN (Guangxi) Police Academy, co-organized the China-ASEAN Police Forum, and sent a drug prevention exchange delegation to Thailand and Laos to conduct exchanges, playing an active role in the national strategy of building a strong security barrier in Southwest, Central and South China. As a training point for senior police talents facing ASEAN and Africa, the school has held more than 30 foreign police training programs since its promotion to a university, involving 15 countries including Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and Ghana. In recent years, the school has won the National Advanced Collective of Public Security Education and Training, Guangxi May 1st Labor Award, Guangxi May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee, Autonomous Region Civilized Campus, Guangxi Higher Education Teaching Reform and Management Advanced Unit, Autonomous Region-level Health Excellent School, Guangxi Green School, Guangxi Energy-saving University and other honorary titles. The Journal of Guangxi Police College was awarded the title of "National Excellent Social Science Journal of Colleges and Universities". Over the past 74 years, the school has adhered to the school motto of "educating people with virtue and talent, and casting souls with loyalty and bravery", cultivating people with virtue and cultivating police officers, and has sent more than 90,000 qualified graduates to political and legal organs at all levels and related industries in the region, and trained more than 100,000 on-the-job police officers, political and legal cadres, lawyers, etc. It is known as the "cradle of Guangxi police officers" and "fertile ground for legal talents".
