Guangzhou Civil Aviation Vocational and Technical College is directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China and is the earliest full-time public general college in the civil aviation industry to independently set up and implement higher vocational education. As the national team, main force and main base for the cultivation of high-level technical and skilled talents in civil aviation, after more than 40 years of construction and development, the school has become a vocational college with the most complete categories of civil aviation majors, the largest scale of training, the strongest capabilities and the highest level in China, and is well-known in China and has a high influence in Southeast Asian civil aviation. It provides strong talent and intellectual support for the construction of a strong civil aviation country in my country, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of Guangdong Airport Economy. The school was founded in 1980. In 2010, it was identified as a national demonstrative higher vocational college. In 2013, it became a "co-constructed" college by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province. In 2016, it was identified as a "project construction unit of the Guangdong Province's first-class higher vocational college construction plan". In 2018, the Civil Aviation Administration and the People's Government of Guangdong Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, clarifying that both parties will deepen the co-construction of the school and support the school to create high-level vocational colleges and majors. In 2019, it was identified as a national high-quality higher vocational college and a construction unit of the "China-style high-level higher vocational school and major construction plan". The school is located in Guangzhou, a key construction area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, adjacent to Shenzhen-Zhuhai, overlooking Hong Kong and Macao, and radiating Southeast Asia. There are three campuses: Airport Road Campus, Baiyun Airport Campus, and Huadu Chi Ni Campus, covering an area of more than 1,100 acres. The Airport Road Campus mainly undertakes industry training functions and takes into account some academic education. Baiyun Airport Campus is adjacent to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and civil aviation maintenance units. It is the largest aircraft maintenance professional training base in the country, and undertakes academic education and training services for aircraft maintenance majors. Huadu Chi Ni Campus is the main battlefield of academic education and a demonstration base for modern vocational education. The school has 29 large, medium and small teaching aircraft, 140 aircraft engines, more than 50,000 aircraft parts and a large number of professional equipment. The school's practical training conditions are ahead of similar domestic colleges and universities. It is dominated by the combination of simulation and actual operation. It has built three major professional training bases: aircraft maintenance, airport operation and navigation, and safety and service. It has built an aircraft maintenance virtual simulation center, a civil aviation flight technology simulator training classroom, and an air traffic control simulation training room, etc., forming a group of practical teaching and training bases inside and outside the school that integrate teaching, practice, training and production. There are 150 practical teaching sites on campus and 145 off-campus internship training bases, including: 2 training bases supported by the central government, 1 national virtual simulation training room, 7 provincial training bases, 1 provincial public training center, and 5 provincial college students' off-campus practical teaching bases, which provide hardware guarantees for improving the quality of civil aviation talent training.
