Guangzhou Civil Aviation Vocational and Technical College is directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China and is the earliest full-time public general college in the civil aviation industry to independently set up and implement higher vocational education. As the national team, main force and main base for the cultivation of high-level technical and skilled talents in civil aviation, after more than 40 years of construction and development, the school has become a vocational college with the most complete categories of civil aviation majors, the largest scale of training, the strongest capabilities and the highest level in China, and is well-known in China and has a high influence in Southeast Asian civil aviation. It provides strong talent and intellectual support for the construction of a strong civil aviation country in my country, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of Guangdong Airport Economy. The school was founded in 1980. In 2010, it was identified as a national demonstrative higher vocational college. In 2013, it became a "co-constructed" college by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province. In 2016, it was identified as a "project construction unit of the Guangdong Province's first-class higher vocational college construction plan". In 2018, the Civil Aviation Administration and the People's Government of Guangdong Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, clarifying that both parties will deepen the co-construction of the school and support the school to create high-level vocational colleges and majors. In 2019, it was identified as a national high-quality higher vocational college and a construction unit of the "China-style high-level higher vocational school and major construction plan". The school is located in Guangzhou, a key construction area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, adjacent to Shenzhen-Zhuhai, overlooking Hong Kong and Macao, and radiating Southeast Asia. There are three campuses: Airport Road Campus, Baiyun Airport Campus, and Huadu Chi Ni Campus, covering an area of more than 1,100 acres. The Airport Road Campus mainly undertakes industry training functions and takes into account some academic education. Baiyun Airport Campus is adjacent to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and civil aviation maintenance units. It is the largest aircraft maintenance professional training base in the country, and undertakes academic education and training services for aircraft maintenance majors. Huadu Chi Ni Campus is the main battlefield of academic education and a demonstration base for modern vocational education. The school has 29 large, medium and small teaching aircraft, 140 aircraft engines, more than 50,000 aircraft parts and a large number of professional equipment. The school's practical training conditions are ahead of similar domestic colleges and universities. It is dominated by the combination of simulation and actual operation. It has built three major professional training bases: aircraft maintenance, airport operation and navigation, and safety and service. It has built an aircraft maintenance virtual simulation center, a civil aviation flight technology simulator training classroom, and an air traffic control simulation training room, etc., forming a group of practical teaching and training bases inside and outside the school that integrate teaching, practice, training and production. There are 150 practical teaching sites on campus and 145 off-campus internship training bases, including: 2 training bases supported by the central government, 1 national virtual simulation training room, 7 provincial training bases, 1 provincial public training center, and 5 provincial college students' off-campus practical teaching bases, which provide hardware guarantees for improving the quality of civil aviation talent training. The school currently has six secondary colleges: Aircraft Maintenance Engineering College, Airport Management College, Civil Aviation Business Management College, Humanities and Social Sciences College, Continuing Education College, and Marxism College. Enrolling students nationwide, there are currently 23 majors and 32 professional directions, basically covering all key positions in civil aviation, with more than 12,000 students on campus. In accordance with the school-running idea of "one body, two wings, eight words, and three advancements", the school has built five civil aviation-specific professional groups with the construction of national high-level professional groups as the driving force, forming group development advantages and brand effects. Among them, the aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance professional group has become a high-level professional group construction project with Chinese characteristics, and three professional groups have become high-level professional groups in vocational colleges in Guangdong Province. With the service of smart civil aviation development as the main line, a number of digital teaching resource libraries have been created to provide a demonstration for the digital construction of national vocational education. Among them, the national aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance professional teaching resource library has been selected into the national vocational education smart education platform, and "Aerodynamics Foundations and Flight Principles" has become a national boutique online open course (higher vocational education), with the number of course selection ranking first in the country. The school implements the dual "1+1+N" revitalization plan and the "five-in-one" assessment mechanism, and has built a team of skilled "double-qualified" teachers and a group of industry experts. The school currently has 717 faculty and staff, including 528 with master's or doctoral degrees and 208 associate senior titles or above. The school teachers have won the National Teaching Achievement Award many times. The school insists on strengthening the school through science and technology, and aims to "three outputs, four types and five bases". It has opened the "Baiyun Lecture Hall" and plans to take the lead in establishing the Civil Aviation Industry-Education Alliance and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industry-Education Alliance, and gradually establish a scientific and technological innovation system that integrates talent training, team building, development and application, and technical services. In the past five years, the school's scientific and technological innovation work has achieved new results, undertaking 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects and 38 provincial and ministerial projects; it has obvious advantages in the fields of aircraft structure repair, aircraft structure corrosion prevention, general aviation operations, civil aviation laws and regulations, aviation industry policy research, and artificial intelligence technology development, forming a group of civil aviation science and technology innovation teams with industry influence. The school's aviation transportation majors are ranked first in the "China Higher Vocational Colleges Comprehensive Competitiveness Ranking". A large number of outstanding graduates have become management and technical backbones of various aviation enterprises and institutions, and a group of graduates have won various national awards and become leaders in the industry. The school insists on the dual-wheel drive of education and training integration, and has multi-type and multi-level training qualifications for pre-job training, skill certification, and academic qualification improvement for employees of industry and social enterprises and institutions, as well as a complete civil aviation vocational education and training system. It has the largest CCAR-66R3 aircraft maintenance license training institution in the country with the largest number of trainings, and is also one of the first pilot institutions to carry out CCAR-66R3 training; it is a CCAR65 flight dispatcher 800-hour training institution, a five-level qualification training and certification institution for airport safety inspectors, a drone pilot training institution, a DJI and Huifei drone application technology training institution, and an aviation safety officer training institution.
