Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Suzhou Institute of Technology, located on a beautiful sandbank on the banks of the Yangtze River, is booming. Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Suzhou Institute of Technology is a full-time general undergraduate college (independent college) jointly established by the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government (representative: Zhangjiagang Jincheng Investment Development Co., Ltd.) and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (responsible for school management). The college is located on the shore of Shazhou Lake in the North Science and Education New City of Zhangjiagang City, one of the top three counties and cities in the country and a national civilized city. It covers an area of about 856 acres, with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan and a total construction area of about 270,000 square meters. The campus environment is beautiful and the academic atmosphere is strong. The camphor trees, which symbolize enthusiasm and friendship, are full of shade, accompanied by the sound of reading. The organizer of the school, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, is a provincial and ministerial co-construction, engineering-oriented, distinctive general college. It has 25 undergraduate majors, including Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Metallurgical Engineering, and Financial Management. A total of 7 teachers won the second prize or above in the provincial professional subject lecture competition, including 2 first prizes; 9 teachers won the second prize or above in the school-level lecture competition, including 3 first prizes. The school insists on serving the society as its orientation, and has gradually formed a social service system of politics, industry, academia and research "based in Zhangjiagang and serving the Yangtze River Delta". The school has carried out comprehensive industry-university-research cooperation with the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government and many enterprises and institutions. In June 2012, the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology signed an agreement to jointly build Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Suzhou Institute of Technology and Zhangjiagang Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Industrial Technology Research Institute. The Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government plans to invest 30 million yuan in special funds for the research institute in three years; in 2013, the school signed a strategic cooperation agreement between the school and the enterprise with Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., Ltd. and established a 4 million "Yonggang Scholarship". So far, the school has jointly built 16 provincial graduate workstations, 11 various R&D centers and engineering technology centers with Zhangjiagang, and signed comprehensive cooperation agreements with more than 20 enterprises and industry associations.
