(I) Historical evolution. Kizilsu Vocational and Technical College is affiliated to the People's Government of Kezhou Prefecture and is the only full-time public higher vocational college in Kezhou Prefecture. The history of the college can be traced back to 1958. It was formed by the merger of eight schools, including the former Kezhou Normal School, Kezhou Agricultural School, Kezhou Teachers' Continuing Education School, Kezhou Health School, Kezhou Agricultural Machinery School, Kezhou Finance and Trade School, Kezhou Technical School, and Kezhou Vocational Middle School. In 2013, they merged to form Kezhou Vocational and Technical School. In October 2018, the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region approved the establishment of Kizilsu Vocational and Technical College, which was filed with the Ministry of Education in May 2019 and officially listed as Kizilsu Vocational and Technical College in July 2019. (II) School facilities. The main campus of the college is located in the 16th courtyard of East Chuangye Avenue, Light Industry Park, Autonomous Prefecture, covering an area of 1,695 mu, including 626 mu of the main campus (292 mu of the original secondary vocational school, 165 mu of expansion site and 169 mu of driving training ground), 500 mu of Beishan fruit science popularization planting promotion training base, 401 mu of Ahu farm, 89 mu of grape base, and 79 mu of nursery base. The main campus has a building area of 103,500 square meters, an area under construction of 147,000 square meters, and a total infrastructure value of 835 million yuan (of which Jiangsu aid to Xinjiang invested 160 million yuan). It has multi-functional teaching buildings, entrepreneurship buildings, training buildings, rehabilitation medical centers, industrial engineering buildings, medical engineering buildings, continuing education buildings, automobile inspection and maintenance training bases, Beishan 500 mu fruit science popularization planting promotion training bases, automobile sheet metal and spray painting training centers, greenhouses, libraries, gymnasiums, track and field stadiums, student canteens, student apartments and other teaching and living facilities to provide comprehensive guarantees for students' study, training and life at school. (III) School resources. The college gives full play to the role of Jiangsu's "group-style" education aid to Xinjiang, establishes a "school-to-department" counterpart assistance mechanism with more than 20 vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province, and carries out assistance work with several vocational colleges in Jiangxi Province, constantly improving the college's own school-running strength. It has 7 national and autonomous region (provincial) master studios in nursing, automobiles, etc., and has autonomous region-level vocational skill level evaluation qualifications. It is the Kezhou Social Science Popularization Base and Kezhou Public Training Base, and is also under the jurisdiction of the Kezhou Library. It has built a Kezhou training base for architectural talents, a clothing design and production training base, and an intangible cultural heritage Kirgiz embroidery research and development center. The college adheres to the "five-pronged education" of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, and won the title of "Autonomous Region Moral Education Demonstration School". (IV) Teachers and students. The college currently has 304 faculty and staff, 6,483 full-time students (3,465 in higher vocational schools, 1,376 in secondary vocational schools, and 1,642 in skilled trades), and a total of 170 classes (88 in higher vocational schools, 34 in secondary vocational schools, and 48 in skilled trades); in 2022, the college will have 1,021 graduates (27 in higher vocational schools, 578 in secondary vocational schools, and 416 in skilled trades), with an overall employment rate of 92.39%, and graduates are mainly employed in counties and cities in the autonomous prefecture; in 2023, the college will have 1,463 graduates (706 in higher vocational schools, 442 in secondary vocational schools, and 315 in skilled trades); currently, there are 2,142 interns, 1,119 in higher vocational schools, 554 in secondary vocational schools, and 469 in skilled trades. (V) Professional settings. The college has 8 teaching units, including the Department of Medical Engineering, the Department of Industrial Engineering, the Department of Agricultural Economics and Engineering, the Department of Education, Art and Cultural Tourism, the Department of Information Technology, the School of Marxism, the Department of Public Basics, and the Department of Continuing Education. It offers 35 higher vocational, secondary vocational and technical majors. There are 13 higher vocational majors: 1. Tourism Management; 2. Modern Agricultural Technology; 3. There are 12 secondary vocational majors: 1. Nursing; 2. Child Care; 3. Livestock and Poultry Production Technology; 4. Facility Agriculture Production Technology; 5. Clothing Design and Technology; 6. Automobile Application and Maintenance; 7. Electromechanical Technology Application; 8. E-commerce; 9. Computer Graphic Design; 10. UAV Control and Maintenance; 11. Construction Engineering Construction; 12. Security Services. There are 10 technical majors: 1. Livestock and poultry production and disease prevention and control; 2. Clothing production and marketing; 3. Arts and crafts; 4. Welding processing; 5. Tourism service and management (senior worker, jointly run with Xinjiang Commercial and Economic Senior Technical School); 6. Beauty, hairdressing and styling; 7. Cooking (Chinese cooking); 8. Cooking (Chinese and Western pastries); 9. Automobile maintenance; 10. Pharmaceutical marketing.
