Linyi Vocational College is a full-time public higher vocational school approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and sponsored by the Linyi Municipal People's Government. The school was founded in 1954 and established in 2008. It was formed by the merger of the former Linyi Radio and Television University, Linyi Commercial School, Linyi Vocational Technical School, and Linyi Economic School. In 2019, the former Linyi Construction Workers Secondary Vocational School was incorporated as a whole. The school is a pilot unit of the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, a pilot institution of the 1+X certificate system of the Ministry of Education, and a pilot institution of the new business smart learning workshop of the Ministry of Education. It has been approved as a national-level makerspace, an employment service base for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Education, a pilot university for the "3+2" staged training of undergraduates in Shandong Province, the first batch of pilot units for the credit system reform in Shandong Province, and a demonstration school for rural revitalization in Shandong Province. In the quality assessment of higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province, it has made three major steps in three years, ranking 39th in 2020, 26th in 2021, and 16th in 2022, entering the "first echelon" of higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province. The school currently has more than 16,000 full-time students and more than 20,000 adult undergraduate and junior college students. It has two campuses, Luozhuang Campus and Economic Development Zone Campus, with a total building area of about 308,700 square meters and a total asset value of 794 million yuan. The Gaodu Campus covering an area of 1,000 acres and the Tancheng Campus covering an area of 750 acres are under construction. There are 12 secondary colleges including the College of Commerce and Logistics, the College of Intelligent Manufacturing, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Medical Care and Health, the College of Modern Architecture, the College of Preschool Education, the College of Digital Media and Art, the College of Rural Revitalization, the College of Emergency Management, the College of Continuing Education, the College of Marxism, and the College of International Exchange, as well as two teaching auxiliary institutions, the Teaching Quality Diagnosis and Improvement Center (Teacher Development Center) and the Library and Information Center. The school has a complete practical training teaching system, and has built 8 on-campus training bases, including the JD Logistics productive training base, which integrates "practical teaching, scientific research, training, production, technical services and skills appraisal", and the intelligent manufacturing virtual simulation training base. There are 178 training rooms covering all majors, including the new generation of information technology training room, industrial robot training room, prefabricated building training room, etc.; equipped with 7,667 sets of advanced training equipment such as five-axis linkage machining centers and intelligent robots. A digital intelligent innovation sharing training platform has been built, supported by four national experimental training platforms (Talent Training Base for Sino-foreign Cultural Exchange in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing of the Ministry of Education, VR World Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, "Qilin Workshop" Training Base of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Cross-border E-commerce Training Base of the Ministry of Education), three provincial training and research and development demonstration platforms (Shandong Province Public Training Base for New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion, Shandong Higher Education New Technology Research and Development Center in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing, Shandong Education Informatization Demonstration Unit), and four municipal public training platforms (Linyi City Shared Large-scale Intelligent (Simulation) Internship Training Base, Linyi City High-end Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Public Training Base, Linyi City Traditional Industry Transformation and Upgrading Public Training Base, Linyi City Cross-border E-commerce Entrepreneurship Training Base), to fully guarantee the cultivation of students' practical ability. The school keeps up with the forefront of the industry, faces the strategic needs of Shandong Province's green, low-carbon and high-quality development and the needs of Linyi City's "Top Ten" industries and rural revitalization talents, and builds a "1+3+5" professional group pattern led by the trade and logistics professional group, with intelligent manufacturing, information technology, and medical and health professional groups as the backbone, and modern architecture, digital media and art, preschool education, rural revitalization and emergency management professional groups as the basic support.
