Liuzhou City Vocational College is a public full-time higher vocational school organized by the Liuzhou Municipal People's Government. The school was established in February 2006. Its predecessor was Liuzhou Normal School (founded in 1940). In May 2007, Liuzhou Radio and Television University, Liuzhou No. 3 Vocational and Technical School and Liuzhou Industrial and Trade Vocational and Technical School were merged into the school. The school is located in Guantang Vocational Education Park, Liuzhou City, covering an area of 1,003 acres. It is dominated by full-time higher vocational education, and integrates secondary vocational education, academic education, adult education, distance education, international student education and skills training. The school has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, implemented the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, fully played the leading role of party building, implemented the concept of "three-dimensional education", actively integrated into the national development strategy, served local economic development, and deepened the integration of production and education, science and education. It has been rated as a national 1+X certificate pilot college, a national model branch cultivation and creation unit for party building work, a national vocational college intangible cultural heritage education inheritance demonstration base, and a national primary and secondary school research and practice education base. It is the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot colleges in Guangxi, a typical school of "three-dimensional education" in vocational education in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a high-level vocational school and professional construction unit in Guangxi. It provides high-quality technical and skilled personnel support for local industrial upgrading. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has exceeded 90%. From 2018 to 2022, it has been rated as "Outstanding Unit for Employment and Entrepreneurship of Graduates from Ordinary Colleges and Universities in Guangxi" for five consecutive years. At present, the school has nearly 20,000 full-time students, more than 3,000 adult education students, and more than 200 international students. It has 11 teaching units, including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Architectural Engineering and Art Design, the School of Teacher Education, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Tourism and Health Care, the School of International Education, the School of Marxism, the Department of Physical Education, the Open College, and the Technical Secondary School Department. It offers 42 higher vocational majors, including electrical automation technology, new energy vehicle technology, industrial robot technology, smart health care services and management, infant and child care, drone application technology, big data technology, prefabricated building engineering technology, film and television multimedia technology, big data and accounting, e-commerce, and primary school education. Among them, the two professional groups of electrical automation technology and smart health care services and management were selected as high-level professional groups in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It has built 1 national backbone major, 1 national collaborative innovation center, 1 national productive training base, 5 autonomous region vocational education demonstration specialty majors and training bases, and 1 Guangxi vocational education development research base. In addition, the school cooperated with the People's Government of Luzhai County to establish the Luzhai Branch of Liuzhou City Vocational College (Secondary Vocational Department) to carry out the demonstration reform of secondary and higher vocational education; the Indonesian Prida Branch of Liuzhou City Vocational College was established in Indonesia, which is the first vocational college in Guangxi to set up a branch abroad. The school adheres to the strategy of strengthening the school with talents and builds a high-level structured teaching team and a high-level scientific research and innovation team. At present, more than 20 professional teaching teams have been established, with 180 teachers with senior professional titles or above, 301 teachers with master's degrees or above, and 331 "dual-qualified" teachers recognized by the autonomous region. There are 1 national new era vocational school master (master) training object, 2 outstanding teachers in Guangxi, 2 outstanding educators in Guangxi, 1 outstanding scholar in Guangxi colleges and universities, 1 backbone teacher of ideological and political education in Guangxi, 2 counselors of the year in Guangxi colleges and universities, 1 high-level innovation team in Guangxi, and 2 specially hired national-level skills and craftsmen. The school has established the concept of high-quality party building leading high-quality development, and the quality of party building work has been newly improved. In 2021, Liuzhou City Party Building College (Party Member Education and Training Base) was established in our school, opening up the Liuzhou model of party member education and training. In 2022, the International Education College and the Party Branch of the Foreign Affairs Office (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office) of Liuzhou City Vocational College were rated as the third batch of "National Model Party Building Work Branch" cultivation and creation units by the Ministry of Education. In 2024, the Party Branch of the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Automotive Engineering of the school was rated as the fourth batch of "National Model Party Building Work Branch" cultivation and creation units. The school adheres to the path of international development. With the development opportunities of the "Belt and Road Initiative", the innovative implementation of "vocational education accompanying enterprises going global" has helped Liuzhou vocational education go overseas, forming an international education pattern with Indonesia, Laos and the Philippines as the main countries, radiating Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Italy, Hungary, Germany and more than 30 other countries. Since recruiting international students, the school has more than 1,200 international students from more than 20 countries including Indonesia, Laos, Russia, Pakistan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The number of international students has long been at the forefront of higher vocational colleges in Guangxi. The school has in-depth cooperation with large enterprises such as SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor. With the enterprises going overseas, it actively creates "industry partner-type" higher vocational colleges, and its international characteristics are increasingly prominent. In 2017 and 2018, the school was listed in the "Top 50 National Higher Vocational Colleges with International Influence" for two consecutive years; in 2023, the school was selected as the "China-ASEAN Education Open Cooperation Pilot Zone to Guangxi Study Abroad Base Cultivation School", and is one of the 10 China-ASEAN Education Open Cooperation Pilot Zone to Guangxi Study Abroad Base Cultivation Schools in the region. In the same year, the school's "China-Indonesia New Energy Vehicle Modern Craftsman College" was selected as the first batch of "China-ASEAN Modern Craftsman Colleges" in Guangxi, and was successfully listed in SAIC-GM-Wuling Indonesia Automobile Co., Ltd. in 2024. In 2024, our school's "China-Laos Overseas Education Project" was recognized as the "Laos Luban Workshop", becoming the first Luban Workshop operation project in Guangxi. The school adheres to the concept of national education. Based on local ethnic culture, focusing on intangible cultural heritage research, ethnic cultural inheritance, and ethnic sports, the school has built a special education model for higher vocational education in ethnic areas that promotes rural revitalization through "school-village co-construction", and integrated excellent ethnic culture and intangible cultural heritage inheritance technology into talent training and social service work. It has an autonomous region intangible cultural heritage inheritance base (Liuzhou Dong Nationality Wooden Architecture Construction Skills Research and Inheritance Base), Guangxi National Culture Inheritance and Innovation Base (Dong Nationality Wooden Architecture Construction Skills Museum), and National Art and Technology Research Institute. It is a national vocational college intangible cultural heritage education inheritance demonstration base, and has been selected as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Primary and Secondary School Research and Practice Education Base and the Central Special Lottery Public Welfare Fund Primary and Secondary School Extracurricular Research and Practice Activity Project Funding Support Base. It has a master studio of Yang Siyu, a national intangible cultural heritage inheritor and Chinese arts and crafts master, and has built 12 autonomous region-level three-dimensional education platforms for teaching, scientific research, dual innovation, skill inheritance, and intangible cultural heritage promotion. The school's traditional village protection and research team was selected as a high-level innovation team in Guangxi colleges and universities. The school adheres to the school-running spirit of "rooted in hometown and empowering the city", insists on being based in Liuzhou, anchored in industry, and comprehensively deepening the integration of industry and education.
