Ningbo Preschool Teachers College (Ningbo Education College) is a public higher normal college with a history of more than 60 years. Its main tasks are to train full-time college students, train in-service teachers and educational administrative cadres in primary and secondary schools (kindergartens) in Ningbo. The school currently has Hangzhou Bay Campus and Ningbo Campus, covering an area of 518 acres and 6,120 full-time students. It has a profound history of running schools. The school was founded in 1959 and was formerly the Ningbo Teachers Training School. In 1984, it was renamed "Ningbo Education College" and is one of the five earliest universities in Ningbo. In October 2018, the new Hangzhou Bay campus was put into use. In May 2019, with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the filing of the Ministry of Education, the school was restructured and established as "Ningbo Preschool Teachers College". In December 2020, the school's preschool education professional group was successfully selected into the list of Zhejiang Province's higher vocational and high-level professional (group) construction. The school has distinctive characteristics. The school has opened 14 majors, including preschool education, early education, product art design, music performance, and e-commerce, and has gradually formed a professional layout and discipline construction of "multiple groups and one chain". Among them, the preschool education major is a key construction major in Ningbo, and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Preschool Education Development has been identified as the only municipal education collaborative innovation center. We give full play to the unique advantages of the Ningbo Education Administrative Cadre Training Center, Ningbo Primary and Secondary School (Kindergarten) Teacher Training Center, and Ningbo Class Teacher Professional Development Guidance Center affiliated to our school, and have established a school-running pattern of integrated pre-service and post-service training for preschool teachers. The teaching staff is excellent. The school strengthens the training of professional leaders and the construction of a dual-teacher and dual-ability teacher team, forming a teaching staff with noble teacher ethics, excellent quality, reasonable structure, and a combination of full-time and part-time teachers. There are 370 faculty and staff, including 269 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 229 have postgraduate degrees or master's degrees or above, accounting for 85.13%, 84 have senior professional titles, accounting for 31.23%, and 13 have been selected for Ningbo's leading and top-notch talent training projects. The results of talent training are fruitful. The school insists on talent training as the central work and deepens the comprehensive reform of "three-dimensional" education. The quality of preschool education normal students is among the best in the province, and the rate of junior college to undergraduate ranks fifth among higher vocational colleges in the province. Many students represented Zhejiang Province in the Yangtze River Delta Normal Students Teaching Basic Skills Competition, and their results ranked among the top higher vocational colleges in the province. In 2021, the works of teachers and students won the first prize in the "Challenge Cup" National Competition Red Special Event. We continue to deepen international education cooperation, sign talent training cooperation agreements with 13 foreign (overseas) institutions such as William Jessup University in the United States and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and cooperate with Dongming University in South Korea to hold a higher vocational education project in preschool education, and cultivate compound talents with an international perspective in all aspects. The school was rated as an advanced collective in the construction of the teacher team in the new era and a collective with outstanding contributions to rural education in the new era by the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Ningbo Education Evaluation Research Institute is located in our school and was awarded the title of "4A-level social organization" by the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau. The collaborative education mechanism is perfect. The school actively promotes school-local co-construction and school-enterprise cooperation. It has cooperated with the School Planning, Construction and Development Center of the Ministry of Education to build the second Children's Research Institute in China, and with the National Academy of Education Administration to build the first regional learning center of the China Education Cadre Network Academy in China. It has built the first key research base for ethnic education cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta region with the National Development Center of the Ministry of Education, and the first "teaching research base" in the Yangtze River Delta region with the Kindergarten Principal Training Center of the Ministry of Education. It has signed a contract with Shanghai Normal University to build an excellent teacher training studio and a postgraduate training base. At present, 154 teaching practice bases, 24 kindergarten teacher development schools, 3 affiliated kindergartens, and 17 five-year cooperative teaching point schools in the province have been built.
