Quanzhou Arts and Crafts Vocational College is one of the five public arts and crafts vocational colleges in China and the only one in Fujian Province. In May 2005, Quanzhou Dehua Technical School, Dehua Vocational Technical School, Dehua Adult Technical School and Dehua Mineral Analysis Center were merged to form Dehua Ceramics Vocational and Technical College. In 2009, it passed the talent training work evaluation of the Ministry of Education. In March 2013, the Fujian Provincial Government approved the name change to Quanzhou Arts and Crafts Vocational College. In April 2014, the name change was registered with the Ministry of Education. In 2017, it passed the second round of talent training work evaluation of higher vocational colleges. The college is located in Dehua, Quanzhou, which is known as the “World Ceramics Capital”, “China Porcelain Capital”, “National All-Area Tourism Demonstration Zone”, “China’s Best Tourist Destination for College Students”, “Fujian Province’s Most Livable Place” and “Fujian Province’s Best Tourist Destination”. The campus covers an area of 305 acres and a total construction area of 92,400 square meters; it has 11 party and government management agencies, 8 teaching institutions and 2 teaching auxiliary institutions; it has 20 full-time majors and adult education majors, and recruits students from 17 provinces across the country. The college has a team of teachers with good comprehensive quality, high professional and technical level, and a combination of full-time and part-time teachers, including 7 professors, 45 senior titles, 133 "dual-qualified" teachers, 1 provincial famous principal, 1 provincial excellent teaching team, 3 provincial teaching masters, 7 provincial professional leaders, 5 national technical experts, 9 provincial arts and crafts masters, 12 provincial ceramic art masters, 16 senior arts and crafts masters, and more than 40 external part-time professors and industry masters. Teachers' works have won more than 180 professional awards at or above the provincial level. The arts and crafts specialty group cultivates "three-creation" modern new craftsmen, the cultural and creative specialty group cultivates "compound" art design talents, the handicrafts trade specialty group cultivates "developmental" modern business management talents, the digital creativity specialty group cultivates "compound" innovative technical and skilled talents, and the ceramics smart manufacturing specialty group cultivates "application-oriented" engineering and technical skilled talents. The college actively explores modern apprenticeship talent training models such as "dual system", "master class", "'master + famous teacher' studio", and "cross-border training". Won 1 second prize of national teaching achievement award, 1 special prize of provincial teaching achievement award, 1 first prize and 3 second prizes; in the past three years, students have won more than 160 awards at the provincial level and above, and won 9 first prizes, 20 second prizes and 18 third prizes in the national higher vocational skills competition. More than 40,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents in the arts and crafts industry have been trained, and more than 200 graduates have been awarded provincial and above arts and crafts masters and ceramic art masters. The college adheres to the purpose of serving local industries, inheriting traditional arts and crafts culture and developing modern arts and crafts creative industries. The college has hosted or participated in 110 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, 4 national teaching resource library projects, more than 40 R&D technology projects with cooperative enterprises, more than 110 ceramic glazes, more than 10 books, and more than 20 school-based teaching materials. The college adheres to openness, cooperation and innovation, actively integrates into the construction of the "Belt and Road", and has become the Quanzhou Branch of the China International Electronic Commerce Center Training Institute, the Ministry of Commerce's foreign aid training project training school, the Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts Teaching Practice Base, and Alibaba's cross-border e-commerce talent training base.
