Shanghai Xingwei College is located in Lingang Free Trade Zone, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. It is a non-profit full-time private undergraduate college, organized by the Shanghai Xingwei College Education Development Foundation. The school was formerly known as "Shanghai Top Information Technology Vocational College", which was founded in April 2001 and is a full-time private ordinary college. In December 2010, it was renamed "Shanghai Xingwei Information Technology Vocational College" with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission; in February 2014, it was approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government and restructured into a private undergraduate college and renamed Shanghai Xingwei College. The school covers an area of 231,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 103,200 square meters, 38,300 square meters of teaching, scientific research and auxiliary rooms, and complete teaching facilities. It has modern teaching buildings, libraries, athletic fields, gymnasiums, indoor gyms, multimedia laboratories, student activity centers, digital campuses, etc. to meet the learning and living needs of teachers and students. It currently offers two undergraduate majors: English and International Business. The English major began to enroll students in 2014, and the International Business major began to enroll students in 2017. In June 2020 and June 2021, the school was added as a bachelor's degree awarding institution for English and International Business, respectively. The school takes "small scale, high level, non-profit" as its school-running orientation, adheres to the fundamental requirements of moral education, and actively integrates into and serves social and economic development. Introduction to the Committee In order to better implement the school-running philosophy of "moral education first, student-oriented, and ability-oriented", a student committee with students as the main body and functional department heads and teachers as coaches has been established to allow students to participate in the daily management and operation of the school to the greatest extent. The school has specially established 9 student committees, including the Administrative Affairs Committee, the Propaganda Committee, the Teaching Affairs Committee, the Student Affairs Committee, the Admissions Committee, the Personnel Committee, the Finance Committee, the Logistics Committee, and the Information and Library Management Committee. Under the guidance of teachers, a system mechanism for students to self-design, self-educate, self-manage, and self-service has been formed. COC: The College Office Committee assists the office in participating in the management of the school's daily administrative affairs; summarizes the meeting minutes of each student committee; collects and stores the information and archives of the college; completes the centralized management of reported materials; completes meeting arrangements, official receptions, etc. PC: The Propaganda Committee assists the office in the school's publicity work, collects major events that have occurred in the school and important information of each student committee; timely updates the content of the school website, bulletin board, and cultural wall; and is responsible for the content of the school's official media reports. EACC: The Course Arrangement Committee assists the Teaching Office in the construction of the school curriculum and teaching arrangements; is responsible for formulating and improving the corresponding teaching system; is responsible for the management of the course selection system Populi; and tracks and analyzes the implementation of course teaching. SAC: The Student Affairs Committee assists the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee in the management of daily student affairs; organizes and carries out various student club activities, organizes and carries out various student team building activities and major school node activities; is responsible for formulating and improving student management systems and student activity systems. FAC: The Finance Committee assists the Finance Office in participating in the school's financial management, is responsible for coordinating the annual budget arrangement of the school throughout the year, and coordinates the financial management work of various student committees; formulates and improves the school's corresponding financial management system; and reasonably allocates the use of school funds. LC: The Logistics Committee assists the Security Office in the management of the school's logistics, security, property, maintenance, guest rooms, canteens and dormitories; participates in the signing and management of the school's cleaning, greening, pest control, and infrastructure projects with third parties; formulates and improves corresponding management systems. ITL: The Information and Library Management Committee assists the Information and Graphics Center in the planning and implementation of the school's information construction; participates in the operation management, repair, and maintenance of the school's information system; is responsible for the procurement of library books and electronic information resources; is responsible for the daily operation management and services of the library. The Student Committee has one chairman, several deputy chairmen, and a varying number of members. The chairman serves for one year and is replaced in October each year. The Student Committee is a key construction course in the college's practical field. Students completing committee work is an important part of the leadership course, which is included in the course assessment and can obtain corresponding credits.
