Shanxi Finance Vocational College was founded in 1978. Its predecessor was "Shanxi Banking School". In 2003, "Shanxi Finance Vocational College" was established. It is under the management of Shanxi Provincial Department of Education and is located in Yingxin Street, Jiancaoping District, Taiyuan City. The school is a full-time junior college-level higher vocational college of finance, mainly focusing on finance. It is a training base for applied talents in finance and one of the four independent higher vocational colleges of finance in my country. The school is a member of the China Financial Education Development Foundation, the China Business Vocational Education Society, and the Shanxi Internet Finance Association. The school adheres to the century-old historical tradition of Shanxi financial vocational education, adheres to the school-running philosophy of "inheriting Shanxi merchant culture and cultivating financial talents", faces the financial industry, serves the local economic development of Shanxi, and has a unique brand of financial vocational education with excellent qualifications. The college currently has two campuses, the main campus and the South Campus (rental), with 6,619 full-time higher vocational students. As of 2023, the college has won 1 national-level online boutique course in vocational education and 3 provincial-level online boutique courses in vocational education; 1 provincial-level special prize and 1 first prize in teaching achievement awards; 5 national planning textbooks; 9 14th Five-Year Plan textbooks; 3 first prizes in the teacher teaching ability competition; 155 provincial-level and above awards in student skills competitions, including 10 national awards and 15 provincial-level first prizes, and many other landmark achievements. As of February 2023, the college has 251 faculty members, including 187 full-time teachers and 121 professional course teachers; 3 professors and 70 associate professors, accounting for 39.04% of full-time teachers; 2 doctors and 162 master's students, accounting for 87.70% of full-time teachers; 91 "dual-qualified" teachers, accounting for 75.21% of professional course teachers. Among them, there are 1 outstanding teacher in Shanxi Province, 1 model teacher in Shanxi Province, 9 outstanding "dual-qualified" teachers in Shanxi Province, 2 famous teachers in Shanxi universities, 1 famous teacher in vocational education in Shanxi Province, 2 role models of teachers in Shanxi universities, and 4 outstanding teachers in the top 100 financial colleges, forming a team of excellent teachers with high cultural literacy, strong professional ability and practical ability. The college improves information facilities, builds an information environment, and makes full use of information technology to improve and innovate teaching.
