Sichuan Construction Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time college affiliated to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The college originated from the Chengdu Urban Construction Engineering School established in 1956, which was renamed Chengdu Construction Engineering School in 1958. In 1963, it was relocated to Deyang, Sichuan, and renamed Sichuan Construction Engineering School in 1980. It was identified as a national key secondary technical school by the Ministry of Education. In 1992, it was named a provincial civilized unit by the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and in 1994 it was again identified as a national key secondary technical school by the former State Education Commission. In 2001, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the former Sichuan Construction Engineering School, Sichuan Urban Construction School, and Sichuan Construction Workers University were merged to form Sichuan Construction Vocational and Technical College. In 2003, the former China Second Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. Workers University was incorporated, and the strength of the college was rapidly enhanced by the four schools. In 2004, the college passed the talent training level assessment of higher vocational colleges and obtained the excellent grade. In 2008, the college was severely damaged in the "5.12" earthquake. Overcoming numerous difficulties, it won a comprehensive victory in earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction, and laid a solid foundation for the development of the college. In 2010, it passed the project acceptance of the National Demonstration Higher Vocational College and won the highest level award from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. In 2011, the college was the first to establish a postdoctoral innovation practice base (postdoctoral workstation) among higher vocational colleges in Sichuan, and jointly trained postdoctoral fellows with "double first-class" universities in Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi and other provinces (cities). In 2013, the Chengdu (Qingbaijiang) campus was put into use, and the overall school-running capacity of the college was improved; in the same year, the college became one of the first batch of high-end technical and skilled undergraduate talent training reform pilot units in Sichuan Province. In 2015, the college was awarded the National Civilized Unit; in the same year, the college launched an innovative development action plan and was recognized as a national high-quality junior college. In 2019, the college was approved for the construction of a high-level professional group in the national "Double High Plan", which opened a new journey of high-quality development of the college.
