Tarim Vocational and Technical College is located in Aral City, the source of the Tarim River and the central city of southern Xinjiang. Tarim Vocational and Technical College is a second-class public welfare financial subsidy institution directly under the division and city. Tarim Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on April 10, 2020, and was established as a comprehensive full-time public higher vocational and technical college registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a multidisciplinary comprehensive higher vocational college, and its business is guided and supervised by the Education Bureau of the Corps. The planned campus of Tarim Vocational and Technical College covers an area of 1,069 acres, with a total construction area of 230,000 square meters and a total investment of 2.136 billion yuan. The total construction area of the first phase of the project is 132,800 square meters, with a total investment of 1.136 billion yuan. Construction started on March 22, 2021. The first phase of the project was completed and put into use. The second phase of the project is expected to start in 2022 and be put into use by the end of 2023. Tarim Vocational and Technical College consists of 6 administrative agencies, 5 secondary colleges and 1 basic teaching department, with a total of 213 faculty and staff. At present, there are 15 majors, including mechatronics, automobile inspection and maintenance, modern textile technology, e-commerce, big data and accounting, engineering cost, infant care services and management, preschool education, digital media technology, textile design, tourism management, nursing, construction engineering technology, general aviation aircraft maintenance, and flight attendants. By 2025, 31 majors will be opened, forming a college structure with two pillars (textiles and clothing, general aviation industry) and six beams (intelligent equipment, engineering technology, e-commerce, tourism management, education, and health). It is expected that the number of students on campus will exceed 10,000. In September 2020, the first batch of 358 students will be enrolled, 1,583 students will be enrolled in 2021, and 2,500 new students will be enrolled in 2022, including 626 new mainland students, and the number of students on campus will reach about 4,000. The signing of a support agreement and flexible talent introduction by seven colleges of the Zhejiang Vocational Education Alliance has laid a good foundation for the rapid development of the college in the later period. All levels and departments of the division and city strongly support the construction and development of the college, further enhance the autonomy of the college through measures such as streamlining administration and delegating power, innovate institutional and mechanism reforms, and further explore the management model of colleges and universities for the division and city, and create a demonstration model. The college signed a school-enterprise cooperation framework agreement with six companies, including the First Division Supply and Marketing (Group) Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Tajian 359 Construction Co., Ltd., Alaer Xinnong Dairy Co., Ltd., China Post Group Co., Ltd. Alaer City Branch of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Xinyue Silk Road Co., Ltd., and Alaer City Jiangnan Wuqiao E-Commerce Co., Ltd., to jointly build the "Tarim Vocational and Technical College Talent Training Base" and "Off-campus Practice Base" for schools and enterprises. The college will conduct deeper research and cooperation with the contracted enterprises in school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education, on-the-job internships, talent training, professional discipline construction and other aspects, directly incorporate the requirements of enterprises for talents into the whole process of education and teaching, realize the "seamless" connection between students' professional abilities and enterprise job requirements, and gradually build a win-win situation for school-enterprise cooperation. The college is based on the direction of industrial development and strives to do a good job in attracting talents and retaining talents in the industry. It will play a positive role in the population agglomeration of the Corps' southern Xinjiang and the divisions and cities, and provide solid talent support for the industrial development of southern Xinjiang. In 2021, in the selection of the sixth national college student art performance program, the two programs submitted by our college won one first prize in the Corps and one third prize in the Corps. It represented the Corps in the selection of the sixth college student art performance program of the Ministry of Education, stood out among many outstanding programs, and was awarded the opportunity to perform live in Chengdu.
