Wuhan Polytechnic is a full-time higher vocational college established by the People's Government of Hubei Province, approved by the Ministry of Education of China, and directly under the management of the Provincial Department of Education. Its earliest history can be traced back to 1972. The school currently has 11 secondary colleges with a total of 70 majors, covering more than a dozen applied technologies and education fields such as optoelectronic information, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, architecture, business, intelligent business, art design, foreign languages and foreign trade, fashion media, tourism and aviation, and biology, forming a professional cluster led by 27 national-level title majors, 46 provincial-level title majors as the main body, and 6 international cooperation majors as the characteristics. The school implements the strategy of "strengthening the school with talents". There are 1,071 full-time teachers and 530 part-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 823 have a master's degree or above, 446 are associate professors or above, and the proportion of "double-qualified" teachers accounts for more than 70% of professional teachers. The school has 1 inspector from the Ministry of Education, 7 experts with allowances from the State Council and the provincial government, 4 national outstanding teachers, 1 national technical skills master, 4 provincial teaching masters and outstanding teachers, 3 national teaching teams, and 5 provincial teaching teams.
