Xi'an University of Finance and Economics is a general higher education institution sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and jointly built by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Statistics. The predecessor of the school can be traced back to the Northwest Trade School founded in 1952, the Xi'an Statistics School of the National Bureau of Statistics founded in 1954, the Shaanxi Finance School founded in 1960, and the Xi'an Basic University founded in 1978.
