Xinjiang Construction Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region in November 2002. It was formed by the merger of Xinjiang Construction Workers University, Xinjiang Building Materials Industry School, and Xinjiang Urban Construction School. It is affiliated to the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of the Autonomous Region. It is the only public full-time higher vocational college in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The college consists of three campuses: construction engineering, urban construction, and building materials, covering an area of 232 acres. There are more than 7,700 students, 446 faculty members, 77 professors and associate professors with senior professional titles, including 311 full-time teachers, and more than 80% of them are "dual-qualified" teachers. There are 1 national outstanding teacher, 1 outstanding expert with outstanding contributions to the autonomous region, 1 outstanding teacher in the autonomous region, 2 teaching masters in the autonomous region, 3 teaching experts in the autonomous region, and 8 college-level teaching masters. The college benchmarks the national higher vocational school standards, innovates the construction methods, integrates school construction with project-based teaching, and gradually forms a new path of characteristic school-running with the spirit of "self-reliance, self-improvement, and self-struggle", and has taken a new path to improve school conditions that conforms to the characteristics of the construction college. At present, there are 8 secondary colleges, including the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Engineering Management, the School of Architectural Planning and Design, the School of Municipal and Environmental Engineering, the School of Building Equipment Engineering, the School of Information Management, the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education. There are 6 professional groups such as construction engineering technology and construction equipment engineering technology. Among them, the construction engineering technology major was approved as the first batch of backbone professional groups in the autonomous region; 36 higher vocational majors covering the construction industry, such as construction engineering technology, architectural design, architectural decoration engineering technology, municipal engineering technology, road and bridge engineering technology, material engineering technology, and engineering cost, are opened. The professional chain is highly consistent with the industrial chain of the autonomous region's construction industry. The college jointly carries out 3+2 five-year junior college-level education with Xinjiang Water Conservancy and Hydropower School and Xinjiang Industrial Economics School, and at the same time jointly trains undergraduate students with Xinjiang Engineering College in the "3+2" school system model. Seven autonomous region specialty majors have been built, including project cost, construction equipment engineering technology, urban and rural planning, municipal engineering technology, and architectural design (architectural animation direction), six autonomous region-level professional teaching teams such as construction engineering technology, and 16 autonomous region-level quality courses such as "Installation of Building Water Supply and Drainage System", "Building Structure", and "Building Earthquake Resistance". There are 4 autonomous region and central financial support projects to enhance the capacity of professional service industries, 5 autonomous region-level and above training bases, and 47 on-campus training rooms (fields) such as prefabricated and BIM training centers, garden engineering, and building intelligence; 1 national vocational skills appraisal institute and construction industry institution technical personnel level (garden worker) assessment station. Since the beginning of this year, the college has been identified as a demonstration base for on-site professional personnel in the construction industry of the autonomous region, and is a "autonomous region-level professional and technical personnel continuing education base", "engineering professional title continuing education base", and "construction engineering professional and technical personnel professional title continuing education training" base recognized by the Autonomous Region Human Resources and Social Security Department; approved by the Ministry of Education as the third batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units and the autonomous region's prefabricated building production-education integration training base. The college has always adhered to the goal of highly matching the professional chain with the industrial chain, taking higher vocational education as the main body, and secondary vocational education and adult education as the two wings, effectively connecting secondary and higher vocational education, opening up the channels between vocational education and adult education, and between vocational education and general undergraduate education, and building an "overpass" for sustainable development of talent training. The employment rate has remained stable at over 94% for many years. In the past 50 years, the college has provided nearly 60,000 high-end technical and skilled talents for the construction industry in Xinjiang, of which 95% of the professionals have stayed in Xinjiang. Every year, it provides nearly 3,000 high-quality skilled talents of different levels and positions for the construction industry in the autonomous region, making outstanding contributions to the construction cause of Xinjiang, and enjoying the reputation of "Huangpu Military Academy of Xinjiang Construction Industry" and "Cradle of Talents". It has won more than 100 awards at the autonomous region level and above, and has established two "double-leader" studios for the party branches of teachers in colleges and universities in the autonomous region and two "model party branches" in colleges and universities in the autonomous region. The construction engineering technology professional group was approved as the first batch of backbone professional groups in the autonomous region. It won the third prize in the engineering surveying competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition. The prefabricated building production-education integration training base was approved as the first batch of production-education integration training bases in the autonomous region. It hosted and organized the masonry project of the National Rural Revitalization Skills Competition, guided the employee group players to win the bronze medal, and the student group players to win the winning prize. It was commended as "the excellent organizing unit of the National Rural Revitalization Vocational Skills Competition and the excellent training unit in Xinjiang". It successfully passed the national modern apprenticeship acceptance inspection; won the bronze medal in the 7th National College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition; four textbooks were selected as the "14th Five-Year Plan" planning textbooks for disciplines and majors in the field of housing and urban and rural construction in higher education; it won the "Autonomous Region Vocational Skills Competition Masonry and Tiler Training Base", "The Fourth Autonomous Region College Ideological and Political Theory Teaching Demonstration Activity Excellent Organization Award", "Advanced Unit for Safe Construction", "Civilized Campus" and other honorary titles.
