Institutional Settings The school currently has 12 party and mass organizations, 14 administrative agencies, 38 teaching and research institutions, and 12 public services and affiliated institutions. Discipline and professional settings The school currently has nine disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art, covering the main areas of senior professional talent training and scientific research. There are 3 national double first-class construction disciplines (Marxist theory, chemistry, computer science and technology), 3 autonomous region "14th Five-Year Plan" advantageous discipline revitalization project construction disciplines (mathematics, Chinese language and literature, and mechanical engineering), and 6 autonomous region "14th Five-Year Plan" characteristic discipline innovation project construction disciplines (law, geography, biology, ecology, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering and technology); 7 disciplines (chemistry, engineering, materials science, environment and ecology, earth science, computer science and technology, general social sciences) are among the top 1% of ESI in the world. There are 14 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 1 engineering doctoral professional degree authorization category, 37 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, 18 master's professional degree authorization categories, and 13 postdoctoral research mobile stations. The school currently has 98 undergraduate majors, 73 majors (categories) will be enrolled in 2023, 69 single majors, 4 major categories of enrollment majors (including 9 majors); 38 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 15 autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites. In the past five years of scientific research, it has undertaken 40 major national key scientific research projects, and the annual scientific research funding has increased from 114 million yuan to 510 million yuan. It won 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 "He Liang He Li Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Award", and 1 second National Innovation Award; it won 134 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards. The school was selected as the first batch of "Higher Education Science and Technology Achievement Transformation and Technology Transfer Base". Teaching and Research Platforms The school currently has 47 scientific research platforms (teams) at or above the provincial and ministerial level in science and engineering, including 1 national key laboratory co-built by the Ministry of Science and Technology and 1 national key laboratory cultivation base co-built by the Ministry of Science and Technology; 1 international science and technology cooperation research base; 1 collaborative innovation center co-built by the Ministry of Education and 3 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education; 14 key laboratories of the autonomous region; 2 engineering research centers and 1 information technology research center of the Ministry of Education, 6 engineering technology research centers of the autonomous region, and 1 research center of the autonomous region people's government; 1 field scientific observation and research station of the Ministry of Education; 1 innovation team in key areas of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 4 innovation teams of the Ministry of Education, and 10 innovation teams of the Tianshan Mountains of the autonomous region. The school currently has 15 scientific research platforms at or above the provincial and ministerial level in humanities and social sciences. Among them, four ministries and commissions jointly established 1 research base for forging a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation, 1 Chinese literary and art criticism base, 1 collaborative innovation center co-built by the Ministry of Education and 11 key research bases of humanities and social sciences in the autonomous region, and 1 provincial and ministerial collaborative innovation center. The school currently has 38,449 students of all types, including 22,392 ordinary undergraduates, 14,629 master's students, 1,321 doctoral students, and 107 international students. The school currently has 2,102 full-time teachers, 1,196 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, and 1,202 teachers with doctoral degrees. There is currently 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 95 people selected for national talent projects, 2 "National Huang Danian-style Teacher Teams in Colleges and Universities", 8 people in the "New Century Excellent Talent Support Program" of the Ministry of Education, and 1 cultural celebrity and one of the four batches (young talents in propaganda, ideology and culture) of the Central Propaganda Department. There are 17 outstanding experts with outstanding contributions in the autonomous region, 6 cultural celebrities and "four batches" talents and cultural industry leaders in the autonomous region, and 13 reserve candidates for the autonomous region's "National High-level Talent Special Support Program". The school is an acceptance unit for the National Scholarship Council's overseas study projects, and is a school for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University, the Chinese Government Scholarship Independent Enrollment, the Confucius Institute Scholarship and the Xinjiang Government Scholarship Project. The university has signed educational exchange and scientific research cooperation agreements (memorandums) with more than 80 universities and educational research institutions in 27 countries and regions. Three Confucius Institutes have been established in Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Xinjiang University Russian Language Center and Russian Foreign Language Proficiency Test Test Center have been established, and internship bases have been set up in many universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries. Since the launch of a new round of counterpart support work in 2010, with the strong support of the Ministry of Education, 15 universities, led by Tsinghua University, with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Wuhan University, Central South University and Renmin University of China as deputy leaders, and Beijing Normal University, Dalian University of Technology, Tongji University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Donghua University, China University of Mining and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, Northeast Normal University, Xiamen University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as members, have provided counterpart support to Xinjiang University. Tianjin University, East China University of Science and Technology and Beijing University of Chemical Technology have established counterpart cooperation relations with our university.
