Zibo Teachers College is a full-time general college at the junior college level approved by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Zibo Municipal People's Government. The predecessor of the school was Zibo Normal School, which was founded in 1951. In 2000, the former Zibo Normal School merged with the former Zibo Second Normal School. In 2004, the school was upgraded to the first new normal college in the province to train primary and kindergarten teachers. In September 2006, the school moved to its current location. Since its establishment, the school has always adhered to the Shandong, primary and kindergarten aspects, training primary school general teachers and high-quality kindergarten teachers, and gradually formed a talent training model of "comprehensive training, major in different subjects, full practice, one specialty and multiple abilities" for primary education majors and "comprehensive training, expertise, full practice, and focus on ability" for preschool education majors, taking into account non-normal education and cultivating applied talents urgently needed for regional economic and social development. The campus covers an area of 1,361 mu, with a total building area of 268,900 square meters and a total value of 109.3474 million yuan for teaching and research equipment. The library has a collection of 960,000 paper books, 1.03 million electronic books, and 18 electronic document databases of various types. There are 10 teaching colleges and departments, 23 enrollment majors, and currently there are 10,442 students. There are 695 faculty members, including 565 full-time teachers, 44 professors, 130 associate professors, 21 doctors, and 337 master's students. There are 498 people with a master's degree or above. There are 2 provincial-level teaching innovation teams, 2 provincial-level Huang Danian-style teaching teams, 3 provincial-level teaching masters, 2 provincial-level young skill masters, 3 provincial-level outstanding ideological and political teachers, and 1 young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in the city. It has successively won 7 national-level projects such as the National Social Science Fund, 2 provincial social science outstanding achievement awards, 56 provincial-level projects such as provincial social science planning projects, 17 Zibo school-city integration projects, and 5 horizontal projects. In the Shandong Normal University Student Skills Competition, 46 students won first prizes, 3 first prizes in the Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition, and 1 first prize in the National Vocational College Skills Competition. The school has won the silver and bronze medals in the competition many times. Graduates have high comprehensive qualities and strong employment competitiveness, and are able to "go down, stay, do well, and develop quickly".
