The University of Chlef is a large public university in the Chlef Province of Algeria. It is named after the Algerian martyr Hasiba Benbouali and offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral education courses.
History and Establishment
The school started in the 1983-1984 academic year with the establishment of the National Higher School of Civil Engineering, with 144 students enrolled at the time. In the 1986-1987 academic year, two new national higher education colleges, the Water Conservancy and Agronomy Colleges, officially opened. The Chlef University Center was established in 1992 and officially became a university in 2001.
