City University of Hong Kong (abbreviated as CityU or CityU) is a public research-based comprehensive university located in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. It was founded in 1984 and was originally named City Polytechnic of Hong Kong. It was granted university status and renamed to its current name in 1994.
