History and establishment time
Founded on August 6, 1868, a group of outstanding Italian intellectuals founded the predecessor of the University of Venice, the Royal Higher Commercial School, which was the first business school in Italy and the second in Europe. In 1935, the school opened the School of Economics and Trade, and became a formal university in 1968. In 1969, the School of Literature and Philosophy was born. In 1970, the School of Industrial Chemistry was established and later renamed the School of Science.
