History
In 1948, the Chihuahua Institute of Technology was established as the first polytechnic institute outside Mexico City. On September 26 of that year, Minister of Public Education Lic. Manuel Guel Vidal and Chihuahua Governor Ing. Fernando Foglio Miramontes laid the foundation stone for the institute. On November 13, the institute started construction. In 1953, the institute trained the first batch of technicians in Mexico. In 1954, the institute trained the country's first generation of industrial engineers.
