Introduction: Namibia University of Science and Technology is a dynamic institution of higher learning in Namibia with more than 15,000 students, offering full-time, part-time and distance education courses. The school is committed to cultivating professionals who are adaptable to the modern knowledge-based working environment with the purpose of science and technology and development.

Overview: The school has multiple colleges and provides a rich range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering business and management, engineering, information technology, journalism, hospitality, natural resource management and medicine. The school has an academic team of more than 449 people, providing high-quality teaching and guidance to students. In addition, the school has more than 824 international students from 39 countries and four continents, creating a diverse academic atmosphere.

History: The school originated from the College of Higher Education established in 1980 and is the first higher education institution in the Republic of Namibia. In 1985, the South African government's bill defined three parts for the college, including the university part, the off-campus training college for vocational training programs, and the Namibia Institute of Technology for technical science programs. After the establishment of the University of Namibia in 1992, the college lost its university department and the rest merged into the Namibia Institute of Technology. In 2015, the Institute of Technology was renamed the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

Establishment: In 1994, the Namibia Institute of Technology was officially established by an Act of Parliament. In 2015, it was upgraded to the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

The Engineering Campus is adjacent to the main campus. Construction began in 1995 and has gradually grown to accommodate libraries, auditoriums, and many other teaching venues, including new buildings for the School of Health Sciences. A building is currently under construction, which will be used for new lecture venues, the Department of Architecture, and the Graduate Library.
