Introduction to Baikal State University

Baikal State University is a state-budgeted higher education institution in the Russian Federation. It is one of the five famous economic universities with a long history and large scale in Russia. It has a certain influence in the fields of economics, law, psychology, etc.

Overview

The school is located in Irkutsk. It has 7 major departments and 15 faculties, providing 117 basic education programs, covering economics, law, international relations and other fields. There are more than 20,000 students and 720 teachers, including more than 230 academicians, doctors and associate professors.

History and establishment time

On August 11, 1930, according to the decision of the Soviet Council of People's Commissars, the Siberian Institute of Finance and Economics was established on the basis of the previous Alexander-Mariinsky Municipal School. After development, it was renamed Baikal State University on October 29, 2015.
