The university is located in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russian Federation. It has more than 20,000 students and about 3,000 faculty and staff. It has 17 colleges, 103 departments, 4 branches, 2 museums, 1 basic library, 1 biological station and 1 planetarium and many other teaching and research facilities.
History and establishment time
The university was established on October 8, 1931 by the People's Committee of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. It was originally the Dagestan Agricultural Teachers College and was renamed Dagestan State University in 1957.
School Strength
Faculty: Nearly 3,000 faculty and staff, including 1 academician of the Russian Academy of Educational Sciences, 4 corresponding academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 11 academicians of the Academy of Industry Sciences, 216 professors and doctoral degree holders, 618 Senior lecturers, etc.
Research achievements: Since 2010, the innovation infrastructure development plan has been implemented, forming a new model of university innovation infrastructure. In 2012, the 2012-2016 Strategic Development Plan was implemented. The research projects cover many fields such as natural sciences and social sciences. It has won many national and international scientific research awards and developed a number of scientific and technological products used in many fields.
