Introduction to Samara State Aerospace University

Founded in 1942, Samara State Aerospace University was formerly known as Kuibyshev Aviation Institute. It is a large scientific, academic and cultural center in Russia and the most famous aerospace university in the former Soviet Union and Russia. In 2009, it was among the first batch of "national research universities" in the Russian Federation and has trained many world-renowned scientists and engineers.

History

Founded in 1942, it was several departments of the Moscow Aviation Institute evacuated to Samara during the Soviet Patriotic War. In 1966, it was named after Academician Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, the father of Soviet spaceflight, and in 1992 it was renamed Samara State University of Aerospace.

Campus environment
