Introduction
I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Первый Московский государственный медицинский университет имени И. М. Сеченова), referred to as I.M. Sechenov University, is the first medical school in Russia and one of the oldest medical schools in Europe. It is also the Russian chairman of the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance and a member of the World Federation of Medical Education.

History
The history of the school can be traced back to The Faculty of Medicine of the Imperial Moscow University was established in 1758. In 1930, the Medical School of Moscow State University was reorganized into the First Moscow Medical School. In 1940, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded the First Moscow Medical School the Order of Lenin. In 1955, the school was renamed the Sechenov First Medical School; in 1990, it was renamed the Sechenov Moscow Medical School of the Ministry of Public Health of the USSR. In 2010, the school was upgraded to a university and renamed the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
