History of the school

The school was founded in 1978 as the off-campus or distance education department of a naturopathic college in Auckland, New Zealand. In 1998, it was licensed by the Oregon Department of Education and became the first college in the United States to obtain permission from the state to provide holistic medicine distance education programs. In 2003, it was accredited by the Distance Education Accreditation Commission and changed its name to the Australasian College of Health Sciences. In May 2009, it was changed to its current name.
