Appalachian Bible College is a private Bible college located in Mount Hope, West Virginia, USA. Here is a detailed introduction to it:
School History
The school was founded in 1950 by Lester E. Pipkin and Robert S. Guelich. It was originally a Bible training college for teenagers in the Appalachian Mountains. In 1983, Daniel L. Anderson became the current president.
Educational Resources
Faculty: The college has 13 academic teachers. Although the number is small, it can provide students with relatively close teaching guidance. The teacher-student ratio is relatively low, which helps students better interact with teachers and learn professional knowledge in depth.
Accreditation: It has obtained both the Higher Learning Commission and the Association for Biblical Higher Education. The school is accredited by the Ministry of Education, which guarantees the school's educational quality and degree recognition, and also provides strong support for students' future further studies or career development.
Professional Settings
Undergraduate dual degree majors: All students who participate in the school's dual degree Bachelor of Arts program must major in Bible and Theology and choose a ministry-related major, such as Bible counseling, women's ministry, youth and family, camping, basic education, interdisciplinary research, missions, aviation, biblical languages, foreign languages, international studies, music, nursing, teaching English as a foreign language, etc. Through this course setting, students can master the knowledge of biblical theology and in-depth study of professional skills in a specific ministry field, so as to be fully prepared for future related Christian ministry.
Other degree courses: In addition to dual degree courses, the school also offers Bible certificate courses and associate degree courses in literature to meet the learning needs and career planning of different students. In addition, the school also provides online courses through ABC Connect, and has opened an on-campus modular course for its Master of Ministry degree, so that students can choose the learning method and time according to their own situation.
Teaching Features
Service-oriented: The school motto is "Because life is for service", emphasizing that life is for service. This concept runs through all aspects of school education and cultivates students' awareness and ability to serve God and society.
Focus on practice: By guiding students to participate in Christian service activities, students can exercise and grow in practice, apply the biblical and theological knowledge they have learned to actual ministry, and improve students' practical ability and comprehensive quality.
Campus life
Sports activities: The school's sports department is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). As a member of the Christian Christian Association, students can participate in inter-school sports such as men's basketball, men's football, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. Through sports activities, students can develop their team spirit, competitive awareness, and physical fitness.
Campus activities: The school will hold various activities, such as alumni homecoming day, ladies' autumn luncheon, prayer emphasis week, etc. These activities enrich students' extracurricular life, enhance communication and cohesion among students, and also provide students with a platform to practice and spread Christian faith.
