Centra College of Nursing has the following features and information:
Educational Programs:
Associate Degree Program: Offers a two-year Associate Degree in Nursing program. The program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and is a member of the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam - Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse and work in a variety of fields such as long-term care, acute care, critical care, emergency medicine, mental health, women's health, pediatrics, surgical services, outpatient clinics, public health, etc.
Other Training Programs: In addition to the Associate Degree in Nursing program, training programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licenses are also available.
Clinical Practice Opportunities: During the course of study, students will be able to gain extensive clinical practice experience at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital, and other local community locations, which will help students combine theoretical knowledge with practical operations and improve their nursing skills and practical abilities.
Teaching Resources:
Faculty: We have a professional team of teachers who have rich teaching experience and expertise to provide high-quality teaching and guidance to students.
Teaching Materials: The teaching materials used are relatively advanced and constantly updated to ensure that students have access to the latest nursing knowledge and technology.
Admission Requirements: Applicants for the Associate Degree in Nursing program must take the ATI TEAS entrance exam, and the test scores must be submitted before the application deadline. For applicants who are already licensed practical nurses, there is an opportunity to shorten the study time from two years to one and a half years through course testing, but relevant supporting documents such as official transcripts from state-approved practical nurse schools and current unrestricted practical nurse licenses are required.
Campuses and contact information: Centra College of Nursing has multiple campuses in Virginia. For specific campus addresses and contact information, please refer to the official website. Different campuses may have certain differences in course arrangements, teaching resources, etc., but they all follow the school's unified teaching standards and requirements.
In general, Centra College of Nursing is a school that focuses on nursing education and provides students with a variety of nursing-related educational programs and practical opportunities. It is a good choice for students who want to work in the nursing industry. However, when choosing a school, students also need to make comprehensive considerations based on their actual situation and career planning.
