History:
The school was founded in 1969 as "Faithful Evangelical Lutheran Seminary" by "Lutheran Alert-National" (LAN), an organization dedicated to biblical inerrancy.
In 1968, LAN was commissioned to study possible ways to preach historical, biblical theology, and ultimately recommended the establishment of a seminary dedicated to the infallible Word of God. The school began its first classes on September 23, 1969 in Tacoma, Washington, with the first president being Rev. Dr. R. H. Redal.
In 2005, the school was renamed "Faithful Evangelical Seminary" to reflect its interdenominational characteristics; in 2006, Rev. Dr. Michael J. Adams was appointed as the second president.
In 2010, the name of the school was added with "College" to correctly reflect its current degree programs; in 2016, it was renamed "Faith International University" again to better cater to the growing international student population.
