Introduction and Overview: Gaston College is a public community college located in North Carolina, USA, serving Gaston County and Lincoln County. More than 5,000 students enroll in courses each semester, and about 16,000 students participate in continuing education courses. History and Establishment: In 1963, North Carolina approved the establishment of Gaston College. In September 1964, the college started its first course at a temporary headquarters. Two months later, the college moved to a permanent campus on Highway 321 between Dallas and Gastonia. Since then, the college has grown from a single campus to three campuses, serving about 20,000 students each year through more than 100 programs.

Campus environment:

Lincoln campus: Opened in August 1969, moved to Lincoln County Technical School in 1987, and began classes at the current location in the spring of 1999.

Kimbrell Campus and Textile Technology Center: Its predecessor was the North Carolina Vocational Textile School, which was approved in 1941 and began operations in 1943. It was transferred to Gaston College in 2005.
