John Carroll University is a private Catholic Jesuit university located in University Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, USA. It provides general education, natural science and business courses for undergraduates, and also provides master's programs in certain fields.
History and Establishment
The school was founded in 1886 and was originally named St. Ignatius College. It was founded after the first Catholic president of the United States took office. In 1923, it was renamed John Carroll University. In 1935, it moved from western Cleveland to its current location.
