Name: Lenoir Community College (LCC)
Nature of the institution: Public community college.
Founded: 1958.
Geographical Location: The main campus is located in Kinston, North Carolina, in Lenoir County, and there are satellite campuses in Greene and Jones Counties.
History:
In 1958, it was chartered by the North Carolina State Board of Education and was then called the Lenoir County Industrial Education Center.
In 1960, it began operations.
In 1963, it moved to its current location in Kinston, covering an area of 18 acres of the main campus, and held its first graduation ceremony in June of that year; in the same year, it became part of the North Carolina Community College system.
In 1964, it obtained community college status and soon received its first accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
In the 1970s, the campus expanded to 90 acres, and opened Greene County and Jones County Centers.
In 1989, the Aviation Center was opened at the Kingston Regional Jetport.

School Strength:
Accreditation: Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), it can award associate degrees, and can also provide certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
Curriculum: Four types of associate degrees are offered, covering dozens of learning programs, as well as diploma and certificate courses. Courses include arts and sciences, business, industry, public services, health sciences, marketing and other fields, such as accounting, computer engineering, graphic arts, horticultural technology, etc.
Teaching mode: daytime, evening and weekend courses are provided, with on-campus and off-campus teaching sites, as well as distance learning, and fast-track programs for students who cannot attend traditional courses.
Key disciplines: Popular majors include liberal arts, general education and humanities, health sciences and related services, business, management, marketing and related majors. Among them, registered nursing, emergency medical technology and other majors are also popular.
Ranking: Ranked 75th in North Carolina and 2,126th overall.
Cost: In the 2020-2021 academic year, in-state tuition and fees are $2,568, and out-of-state tuition and fees are $8,712.
Campus environment:
Campus size: The main campus covers an area of 18 acres. With the development, the college has campuses in many regions, and the total area has continued to increase. In 2005, it reached 137 acres and four campuses.
Facilities and equipment: It has a learning resource center, academic library, etc., providing students with a good place to study. In addition, the Aviation Center provides a practical venue for students majoring in aviation-related subjects.
