History and establishment time
In 1970, the Ohio Board of Regents chartered the establishment of Marion County Technical College and set up an office on the campus of Ohio State University Marion. In 1971, Marion Technical College began to enroll students, with 187 students enrolled in four technical courses. In 1972, the Ohio Legislature changed the name of the school to Marion Technical College, and the first class graduated.
