Introduction and Overview: Meredith College is a private college located in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. It is famous for liberal arts, art, biomedicine and economic management. The school was originally a private aristocratic women's school. Currently, undergraduate students are mainly female, and graduate students are both male and female. The total number of students is about 1,800, including about 1,500 undergraduates and about 300 graduate students.
History and Establishment Time: The college was established in 1891 and was originally named Baptist Female University. In 1904, it was renamed Baptist University for Women. In 1909, it was changed to its current name Meredith College in honor of Thomas Meredith, the founder of the Baptist newspaper "The Bible Recorder". In 1924, the college began to build a new campus on Hillsborough Street and welcomed students to attend classes here in 1926.
