Oral Roberts University is a private evangelical university located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. The following is a detailed introduction to the school:
History:
Founding and development: The school began construction in 1962, was officially established in 1963, and officially opened in 1965, with an initial enrollment of 300 students. It was founded by Grahamite Christian evangelist Oral Roberts, aiming to establish a university based on the authority of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. In 1967, the core symbol of the campus, the prayer tower, was built at a cost of $2 million.
Subsequent twists and turns: The school experienced some ups and downs in its development, such as the closure of the law school due to financial problems in 1986, and the closure of the medical school and related medical research centers due to financial difficulties in 1989. However, the school gradually recovered and continued to develop.
School conditions:
Department settings:
College of Arts and Culture: It is the largest college of the school, with majors covering media advertising, literature, history, music and administrative management, etc.
Business School: offers majors in accounting, finance, management, marketing and international business, focusing on cultivating students' business practice capabilities in the context of the global economy.

The school also has facilities such as the Kenneth H. Cooper Fitness Center and the J.L. Johnson Stadium. In 2017, the Global Learning Center and the OneOK Sports Complex opened; in 2019, the Nick Notohardiro Residence Hall was newly built.
Academic Situation:
Academic Accreditation: Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and the colleges and programs are also accredited by specialized accreditation agencies, such as the ACSB International Business School Accreditation Board, the National Teacher Education Accreditation Board, etc.
Degree Programs: More than 65 undergraduate majors, 14 graduate degree majors, and 2 doctoral programs are offered. The school also has an early admission agreement with the Oklahoma State University Health Sciences Center, allowing students with excellent grades to conditionally enter the school's College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Teaching Philosophy: Emphasizes the teachings of Pentecostal Christianity and integrates them into teaching.
Student Life:
Accommodation Policy: All unmarried undergraduates under the age of 25 must live on campus unless they live with their parents in the Tulsa area. Male and female students live in different dormitory buildings, and there are restrictions on the time when the opposite sex can enter and exit the dormitory building. Each dormitory building has a pastor and a residential advisor who are responsible for supervising discipline, organizing worship and other activities.
Worship activities: Worship services are held in the Christian Church every week. These services will be recorded and broadcast live on the university TV station and also broadcast via satellite.
Student Code: All students are required to sign an honor code, promising to abide by the school's rules and regulations. Prohibited behaviors include lying, swearing, smoking, drinking, and a series of inappropriate sexual behaviors.
Sports: The school is a member of the Summit League, and its sports programs include men's and women's basketball, cross-country running, golf, football and tennis, as well as men's baseball and women's volleyball. The team's nickname is "Golden Eagles".
