School Overview
Historical Origin: Founded in 1880 by Dr. William Plumer Jacobs. He came to Clinton, South Carolina in 1864 and initially established the Thornwell Orphanage. Five years later, in order to allow these orphans to continue their education, he founded this college, which was originally called Clinton College. In 1904, it officially became the Presbyterian College of South Carolina.
