School History

Rhodes College was founded in 1848. It was formerly the Masonic University of Tennessee, which was established by the Southwestern Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, Tennessee, USA.

In 1925, the school was renamed Stuart College and then moved to Memphis. After several name changes, it was finally named Rhodes College in 1984.
