Introduction and Overview
Stark State College is a public community college located in North Canton, Ohio, USA. It was founded in 1960 and offers 230 majors, options, one-year certificates and career advancement certificate programs. There are about 4,000 non-credit students participating in continuing education and contract training activities. The number of students enrolled in the fall of 2019 was 11,833.
History
Founded in 1960 by Clayton G. Horn, Samuel Krug Liak and Ralph Regula, it was originally named Stark County Technical Institute. After several name changes, it was changed to Stark State College of Technology in 1996 and finally named Stark State College.
