Introduction and Overview
The University of Dayton is a private Catholic research university located in Dayton, Ohio, USA. It is also one of the three Marianas universities in the United States and the second largest private university in Ohio. It has more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students from 50 states and more than 60 countries, and offers more than 80 academic programs in arts, sciences, business, education, health sciences, engineering and law.
History and Founding Time
The school was founded in 1850 by the Marianas. Its predecessor was St. Mary's School for Boys. It had different names such as St. Mary's College. It was determined to be the current name in 1920.

Faculty: It has 1,384 academic staff, a student-to-faculty ratio of 15:1, and 38.3% of classes have fewer than 20 students.
Academic Achievements: The school's engineering major is particularly famous and has always been at the forefront of the country. It has strong strength and a high reputation in aerospace engineering, electrical, mechanical and biomedical engineering. In 2009, it also opened what may be the first undergraduate degree program in human rights in the United States.
Research Level: Classified as "R2: Doctoral University - High Research Activity", it has important research results and research centers in the fields of tissue engineering, advanced sensor technology and human rights, and conducts research and innovation projects with many industry partners.

Campus Facilities: The campus covers an area of 388 acres and is located on both sides of the Great Miami River in southwestern Ohio, less than two miles from downtown Dayton.
