History:
Founded in 1956, it was originally a remote branch of the University of Michigan, named Flint Senior College, offering senior undergraduate courses.
Later, it gradually developed and was accredited as a full-fledged university in 1970 and renamed the University of Michigan-Flint, following the policies of the University of Michigan Board of Regents.
