History
The school can be traced back to the York County College, which opened in the center of York, Pennsylvania in the 1770s and was associated with St. John's Episcopal Church.
The school was chartered and established by the Pennsylvania State Legislature in 1787. In 1929, York County College and York College Institute merged to form York Junior College, and in 1968, an accredited four-year bachelor's degree program was established, officially becoming York College of Pennsylvania.

The school covers an area of 190 acres and has three campuses: the main campus, the west campus, and the north campus.
