Introduction and Overview: University De Mwaro is a private university in Burundi, located in Kibombu, Mwaro Province. The school has several colleges, offering courses covering medicine, management and other fields.

History and Establishment: The school was established on October 11, 2001. Initially, there were two colleges and one institute, offering bachelor's degrees in law, administration and paramedical science and technology. In 2005, due to insufficient student numbers, the law and administration colleges were suspended, and only the paramedical science institute was retained. Since then, the school has continued to develop, and new paramedical courses such as nursing and midwifery were opened in 2012, and anesthesia/resuscitation and laboratory courses were opened in 2013.

School Strength: In 2014, the school received about 500 desktop computers donated by British charities. In 2016, the school opened an on-campus clinic, providing emergency, hospitalization, internal medicine, operating room and surgery, obstetrics and other services, and also has incubators for premature babies. In 2023, the school has two campuses. The Kibombu campus has a School of Health Sciences, including three professional directions: nursing, laboratory, anesthesia and resuscitation, and also has courses such as accounting and management, community development, and a university clinic; the Bujumbura campus has more than 450 students studying subjects such as business administration, accounting and management, and community development.
