The Air Force Early Warning Academy was established in 1952. It was originally named the Air Force Radar Academy and was rebuilt into the Air Force Early Warning Academy in 2011. The academy is the only specialized academy in the field of early warning and surveillance in the country, and the only academy in the whole army with early warning, surveillance and electronic countermeasures as the main disciplines. It is one of the military information capability training bases and a national first-class undergraduate military academy. It is mainly responsible for the training of command and technical officers and non-commissioned officers of the early warning system and the ground electronic countermeasures forces of the whole army. The academy adopts the "one academy and four locations" school-running model. The headquarters of the academy is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, with a total area of more than 2.3 million square meters. The campus has an elegant environment, green trees and complete teaching facilities. It is an ideal academy for serving the country and learning to become a talent. In the course of more than 60 years of construction and development, the academy has accumulated and formed "three distinctive characteristics": the school-running characteristics that resonate with the development of the national early warning and surveillance system, the education and training characteristics of intensive talent training, and the "three to one long-term" education characteristics. In particular, since 1975, the college has carried out ideological education on devoting itself to national defense with the main content of "three to one long-term" among students, which has had a wide impact inside and outside the military. In 1987, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education, the General Political Department and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League jointly forwarded the college's experience. In 2009, the college was again identified by the General Political Department as a major model for cultivating the core values of contemporary revolutionary soldiers, and 49 news media in the central government and the capital concentrated on publicity and reporting. In recent years, the college has been successively rated as a national "advanced college for party building and ideological and political work", the first batch of "excellent teaching units" in the whole army, the "advanced college for ideological and political education of students" in the whole army, and the "advanced college for teaching the scientific outlook on development" in the whole army. Adhering to the school spirit of "loyalty, martial arts, innovation and dedication" and the school motto of "foreknowledge first, moral cultivation and people cultivation", the college has trained and sent more than 60,000 command and technical officers to the troops. Among the graduates, 20 have grown into generals of the Republic, 15 have won the "Medal of Outstanding Children of the Border of the Motherland", and it is known as the "Cradle of Radar Officers". The 13 grassroots units led by the graduates have been awarded honorary titles by the Central Military Commission and the Air Force Party Committee. The college has a strong faculty, with a team of teachers with high academic qualifications, excellent professional quality and reasonable echelon structure. Among them, more than 90% of the graduates are postgraduates with a master's degree or above, there is 1 specially appointed academician, more than 200 professors and associate professors, 15 national and military outstanding teachers, and 11 experts enjoy special government subsidies from the State Council. At present, the college has 3 doctoral degree authorization points, 13 master's degree authorization points, 3 military (provincial) key disciplines, 6 military "2110" project key construction disciplines and professional fields, 3 first-level discipline postdoctoral mobile stations, and 1 postdoctoral research workstation. The college has two key military laboratories, as well as practical teaching platforms such as combat simulation centers and integrated training systems, and the largest radar equipment practical training base in the entire army. The campus has a standard track and field stadium and a multifunctional comprehensive gymnasium. The library has a collection of 500,000 books and 1.2 million digital books, and is a "Hubei Provincial Research-level Document Collection Unit". There are more than 30,000 square meters of student dormitory buildings, with clubs, specialty practice rooms, table tennis rooms and other cultural activity venues. The student dormitories are equipped with basic living facilities such as toilets, washrooms, and air conditioners. We warmly welcome young people with ambitions to apply for the Air Force Early Warning Academy!
