The predecessor of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was Wuhu School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which was founded in 1960. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was the first among similar colleges in the country to be independently upgraded to "Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine". In order to integrate health education resources, in 2006 and 2012, the Wuhu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government successively assigned the Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Municipal Stomatological Hospital to the school as a whole. In recent years, under the leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and under the guidance of the Provincial Party Committee Education Working Committee and the Provincial Department of Education, the school's scale of operation has continued to expand, its school strength has been increasingly strengthened, and its school characteristics have become more prominent. The school is now the deputy director unit of the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee, the first batch of national healthy school construction units, the chairman unit of the Anhui Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization Research Association, the Anhui Provincial Joint Training of Ordinary Junior College Students Pilot College, Anhui Provincial "Three-All Education" Comprehensive Reform Pilot College, Anhui Provincial "Double High" College and Professional Group Construction Unit, and the school is currently striving to create an application-oriented undergraduate college with distinctive characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine. The campus is located in Yijiang District and covers an area of about 388 acres. The school has 8 teaching departments, including the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Rehabilitation and Health Care, the Department of Nursing, the Department of Stomatology, the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Basic Teaching Department, and the Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory Courses. It offers 29 specialized majors, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Bone Injury, Acupuncture and Massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Stomatology, Stomatology Technology, and Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, achieving full coverage of national controlled medical majors. The school currently has 10,428 students and 534 full-time teachers (including affiliated hospitals). Among the full-time teachers, there are 215 teachers with associate senior professional titles or above, 29 teachers with senior professional and technical titles, including 12 professors; there are 232 full-time teachers with postgraduate degrees, including 15 doctors. The school currently has 1 central government-supported training base, 2 central government-supported projects to enhance the development capacity of professional service industries, and 3 national key majors. There are also 15 provincial-level high-level vocational majors, characteristic majors, backbone majors, demonstration majors, and professional comprehensive reform pilot projects, 24 provincial-level technical and skilled master studios, high-level teaching teams, teacher teaching innovation teams, and curriculum ideological and political teaching teams, and 22 provincial-level demonstration experimental training centers, innovative experimental areas, school-enterprise cooperation practice education bases, and school-enterprise co-construction productive training bases. The school has 2 directly affiliated hospitals, 1 Chinese medicine resource research institute, 1 natural medicinal plant garden, 1 Chinese medicine museum, and the Modern Chinese Medicine Research and Practice magazine. It has 9 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 24 teaching hospitals, 3 industrial colleges, 3 clinical colleges, 1 professional college, and more than 130 stable internship bases in the Yangtze River Delta region. Among them, the affiliated hospital (Wuhu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital) was founded in 1958 and is one of the "first batch of national demonstration traditional Chinese medicine hospitals" and "a national tertiary-level comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine hospital"; the affiliated dental hospital (Wuhu Stomatological Hospital) is the only secondary dental specialty hospital in the city that integrates teaching, treatment, prevention and health care; the natural medicinal plant garden covers an area of more than 500 acres and has more than 1,200 kinds of medicinal plants; the Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum covers an area of 4,000 square meters and is a national popular science education base and an Anhui Province patriotism demonstration education base; "Modern Chinese Medicine Research and Practice" is a Chinese science and technology core journal and one of the most influential academic journals in the field of domestic research on traditional Chinese medicine production and quality management.
