Anhui Health Vocational College is a provincial public full-time general higher vocational college. Its predecessor was the Wuhu Hospital Nursing School founded in 1926. It has successively gone through the Wuhu Health School, Chizhou Health School, Anhui Provincial Family Planning School and other school-running stages. In March 2012, it was upgraded to Anhui Population Vocational College and officially included in the ranks of full-time general colleges and universities at the junior college level. In May 2017, it was approved by the Provincial People's Government and filed with the Ministry of Education and renamed Anhui Health Vocational College. It is affiliated to the Anhui Provincial Health Commission and is also guided by the Provincial Department of Education in terms of business. There are currently more than 13,000 students and 253 undergraduates (joint training). The college is an important talent training, vocational training and continuing education base in the field of health in the country. It has successively won the titles of National Advanced Collectives named by the Ministry of Personnel and the National Population and Family Planning Commission, Advanced Units awarded by the Anhui Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission, Anhui Provincial May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee, Chizhou City 1st to 8th Civilized Units, Chizhou City Civilized Unit Model, Chizhou City Second Civilized Campus and other titles. The college is a pilot university for the comprehensive reform of "three-dimensional education" in Anhui Province, "Anhui Provincial Rural Doctor Training Center", "Rural Doctor Training Center of China Renmin University", "National and Anhui Provincial Health and Family Planning Professional Education and Training Base", "National Reproductive Health Consultant Teacher Training Base", "Ministry of Education Second, Third, Fourth Batch 1+X Certificate System Pilot College", Anhui Provincial School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base, Anhui Qingyang County Jiuhua Huangjing Health Industry Research Institute Anhui Academician Workstation. In February 2022, the college was approved as a local skill-based high-level university construction unit in Anhui Province. The college is located in the Education Park of Chizhou City, Anhui Province, surrounded by mountains and rivers, and has beautiful scenery. It covers an area of 521 acres, with a total construction area of about 200,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment assets is more than 60 million yuan. An indoor gymnasium with a construction area of nearly 4,000 square meters and a standard stadium with a 400-meter plastic track have been upgraded and renovated into a positive, warm, beautiful, comfortable and convenient modern library with more than 590,000 paper books and more than 630,000 electronic books. The college currently has 752 full-time teachers, 143 of whom have master's degrees or above, and nearly 800 part-time university professors, associate professors and industry experts. The college has six teaching departments, including the Department of Nursing, the Department of Health Services, the Department of Medicine, the Department of Medical and Health Technology, the Basic Department, and the Department of Ideological and Political Education. It has 24 higher vocational and technical college majors covering four major professional categories, including medicine and health, public management and services, food, medicine and grain, and resources, environment and safety. It has four professional groups, including clinical medicine, nursing, medical laboratory technology, and smart health care services and management. The rehabilitation therapy technology major is a national backbone major, and the college has become the most complete college in the province in terms of the professional chain of health and wellness throughout the life cycle. In June 2022, with the approval of the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Health Commission, it took the lead in establishing the Anhui Province Full Life Cycle Health Vocational Education Alliance, which is also the first provincial-level full life cycle health and wellness vocational education alliance in China. In June 2023, the Provincial Health Commission entrusted our hospital with the management of Anhui Huangshan Sanatorium, and laid out the big health industry in an all-round way to build a health care industry college. The college adheres to the talent training concept of morality first, ability first, and all-round development, and is committed to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with high professional quality, solid professional foundation, and strong practical ability. There are 8 training centers in the hospital, including nursing, midwifery, medical laboratory technology, medical cosmetology technology, medical imaging technology, clinical medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, and pharmacy. Among them, the nursing, rehabilitation therapy technology, medical laboratory technology, and medical imaging technology experimental training centers have been approved as provincial demonstration experimental training centers, and the nursing training base has been approved as an internship and training base construction project for higher vocational colleges in Anhui Province. The college has 2 directly affiliated hospitals, 6 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and more than 10 "double-main sports" cooperative hospitals. Among them, Wannan Rehabilitation Hospital and Dongzhi County People's Hospital were awarded the Anhui Provincial School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base as our dual-subject teaching hospitals. In order to accelerate the cultivation of high-quality, skilled health talents that meet the needs of the grassroots, the college cooperates with many hospitals to carry out the "1+1+1" "double-main sports" talent training work in nursing, clinical medicine, medical imaging technology and rehabilitation therapy technology. Our college signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the People's Government of Feidong County to establish a collaborative center in Feidong County; and jointly carried out the joint training of nursing and pharmacy majors with Anhui Medical University. Pharmacy, medical cosmetology technology, smart elderly care, health management and other majors are employed in developed areas of the Yangtze River Delta such as Shanghai, and the supply is in short supply.
