Anhui Industrial Economic Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as the College) is a full-time public general college. The College was formerly the Anhui Geological Workers University established in 1983, and was renamed Anhui Industrial Economics Workers University in January 1997. In June 2001, it was approved by the Anhui Provincial People's Government and filed with the Ministry of Education. It was restructured and rebuilt on the basis of the original Anhui Industrial Economics Workers University. It was jointly built by the Anhui Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration, with the leadership and management of the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration as the main body, and the business was guided by the Provincial Department of Education. It is now an excellent unit for the national assessment of talent training work in higher vocational colleges, a project construction unit of "double colleges" in Anhui Province, a local skill-based high-level university construction unit in Anhui Province, the first batch of pilot colleges for joint training of talents from junior college to undergraduate in Anhui Province, a model higher vocational college in Anhui Province, a civilized unit in Anhui Province, an advanced unit for employment work in the province, a model unit for employment work of graduates from ordinary colleges and universities in Anhui Province, an advanced unit for employment work of graduates from ordinary colleges and universities in Anhui Province, a benchmark school for the Anhui Higher Vocational Education Skills Competition, an advanced unit for student aid work in Anhui Province, a model unit for the support of the army and the people in Hefei, and an advanced unit for health in Hefei. The main campus of the college is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. There are three campuses in the East District (No. 66, Qimen Road, Hefei City), the West District (No. 410, Tongcheng South Road, Hefei City), and the Bantang Campus (No. 2, Huayuan Street, Bantang Town, Chaohu City), covering a total area of 531.39 acres. There are more than 15,000 full-time higher vocational students. There are 8 on-campus comprehensive training centers, including geological exploration, jewelry and jade identification, new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, intelligent construction, digital finance and taxation, e-commerce live broadcast, and preschool education, with a total of 113 experimental training rooms and 121 off-campus training bases, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is more than 140 million yuan. Among them, there is 1 national vocational education training base, 1 national first batch of demonstration professional qualification and skill appraisal institute, 7 provincial demonstration internship training centers, 9 school-enterprise cooperation practice education bases and Royalstar smart home appliance production and education integration training base. The total value of various teaching instruments and equipment is more than 140 million yuan, and the collection of paper and electronic books and materials (converted) is more than 1 million volumes. The college currently has 8 secondary colleges (School of Culture, Tourism and Education, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Computer and Art, School of Business, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Finance and Economics, School of Geology and Architectural Engineering, School of Jewelry), 1 department (Public Teaching Department), as well as the library, the School of Continuing Education, the International Education Cooperation and Exchange Center, the Anhui Deep Earth Drilling Engineering Research Center, the Anhui Geological Data and Application Center of the High-Resolution Earth Observation System, and Anhui Natural Space Information Technology Co., Ltd. and other teaching and research institutions and platforms. In addition, it has 5 undergraduate talent training majors jointly with Hefei Normal University. There are a number of key majors at or above the provincial level, including 1 national backbone major and 22 provincial key, demonstration, characteristic, and comprehensive pilot reform majors, as well as 74 provincial-level and above quality courses, quality resource sharing courses, and "MOOCs". The college currently has 631 high-quality full-time and part-time teachers, including 176 senior professional titles and 251 master's degrees or above. A group of excellent teachers represented by "National Technical Experts" have emerged one after another, including 1 "National Worker Pioneer", 18 provincial teaching teams, 14 provincial famous teachers of various types, 2 reserve candidates for provincial academic and technical leaders, 1 provincial gold medal employee, 2 provincial labor models, and 1 person enjoying special allowances from the provincial government. Chang Yinfu, a dual academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is a part-time professor of the college. Over the past 40 years, especially over the past 20 years, the college has actively adapted to the new situation, new tasks and new requirements of vocational education development, adhered to the principle of being based in Anhui, relying on the industry, integrating into the Yangtze River Delta, and facing the whole country, followed the rules of running higher education and vocational education, and took the road of connotation, quality and characteristic development. After years of accumulation, it has formed a distinctive "three-in-one integration" (industry, college, enterprise) characteristic school-running model, "one specialty and two main" (natural resources majors as the main body, advanced manufacturing and modern service industries as the main body) characteristic professional system, "three combinations" (school-enterprise combination, work-study combination, double-certificate combination) characteristic talent training model and "three-industry core" (love the job, hard work, and make contributions) characteristic campus culture. Since its establishment, it has trained more than 50,000 talents for the industry and local economic and social development, and a group of outstanding talents represented by alumni Zhu Hengyin, a "great craftsman", have emerged. Students have always been ranked among the top 74 higher vocational colleges in the province and the first echelon in the country in the provincial vocational skills competition. Since 2007, the college has won 10 first prizes, 27 second prizes, and 30 third prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition; and 86 first prizes, 198 second prizes (including 1 silver prize), and 182 third prizes (including 2 bronze prizes) in the provincial vocational college skills competition. In particular, since 2019, students have won the first prize in the "Jewelry and Jade Appraisal Competition" of the National Higher Vocational Colleges for four consecutive years, which also indicates that the construction of the specialty of gem identification and processing technology and talent training of our college have reached the domestic first-class level. The employment rate of graduates has remained stable at more than 95%, and the satisfaction rate of employers with graduates has been above 90%. The college's enrollment and employment work has always maintained a good trend of "strong imports and smooth exports". The college continues to reform and innovate, deepen the integration of production and education, promote school-enterprise cooperation, promote connotation construction and high-quality development, and cooperate with many leading enterprises, listed companies such as Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Hefei BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., Hefei Royalstar Electronics Group Co., Ltd., Zhengbao Distance Education Group, and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Anhui Institute of Geological Survey, Anhui Provincial Geological Environment Monitoring Station and more than 80 other enterprises, institutions, universities and research institutes to build majors and cultivate talents, etc., to serve local and regional economic and social development. The college adheres to the principles of open, open and cooperative education, and actively carries out multi-level and wide-ranging foreign education exchanges and cooperation. The long road is like iron, but now we are starting from the beginning. In August 2023, the college was selected as one of the first batch of "double colleges" construction units for vocational education in Anhui Province, entered a new stage of connotation construction, and started a new journey of high-quality development.
