Anhui University of Information Engineering is a non-profit private applied undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province. It is wholly owned by iFlytek Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "iFlytek"), a well-known domestic and internationally renowned intelligent voice and artificial intelligence listed company, and supervised by the Anhui Provincial Department of Education. Its predecessor was the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Anhui Institute of Technology (now Anhui University of Technology) established in June 2003; in April 2012, iFlytek and Anhui University of Technology jointly established the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Anhui University of Technology and took the lead in running the school; in April 2016, it was converted into an independent full-time undergraduate college and renamed Anhui University of Information Engineering. The school is located in Wuhu City, a sub-central city in Anhui Province, covering an area of more than 1,200 acres and a school building area of more than 370,000 square meters. There are more than 14,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 700 faculty and staff. It has the School of Computer and Software Engineering (School of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence), the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Management Engineering, the School of Art and Design, the School of General Education and Foreign Languages, the School of Marxism and the Wuhu Ziyunying Innovation and Entrepreneurship College. It has 26 undergraduate majors in software engineering, artificial intelligence, automation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, robotics engineering, intelligent manufacturing engineering, supply chain management, marketing, environmental design, and English, forming a discipline layout with engineering as the main focus and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, and art. The school currently has a library with more than 1.12 million paper books, more than 880,000 electronic books, and more than 530,000 electronic journals. There are currently 6 experimental teaching centers, with 78 experimental (training) rooms covering all majors of the school, 8 provincial demonstration experimental training centers, and a total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment of more than 111.23 million yuan. There are more than 8,000 square meters of outdoor quality development bases and indoor development training rooms, and 366 off-campus internship bases. A smart campus covering smart education, smart management and smart park with certain demonstration has been built, and it was rated as a pilot institution of the national smart education platform in 2022. Since iFLYTEK took the lead in running the school in 2012, the school has established an application-oriented school-running orientation to serve the regional economic and social development, with the vision of "cradle of industrial engineers and entrepreneurial entrepreneurs" established by the school board as its vision, adhering to the school motto of "determination, sincerity and innovation", relying on iFLYTEK's advantages in talents, technology and resources, and drawing on the school-running philosophy and training model of European and American universities of applied sciences, the school has deeply implemented a series of educational and teaching reform measures of "breaking through tradition, facing the market, focusing on application, and innovation-driven". We proposed nine unique educational and teaching principles of Anxingong, explored a deeply integrated industry-education collaborative education mechanism, and promoted the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching; we built and continuously iterated the "three-three" talent training program, and developed a "four-channel" personalized training plan; we reconstructed the practical teaching system with project-based teaching as the main line and added a summer semester with practical teaching as the main line, which greatly improved the teaching link of applying theory to practice; we established a secondary discipline competition system for schools and colleges, and built an intellectual property patent innovation cultivation system with the approved national technology and innovation support center as the carrier, and built a three-tier progressive "pyramid" innovation and entrepreneurship education. system to cultivate students' creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship; carry out online and offline hybrid teaching based on smart teaching platforms and smart classrooms, explore and gradually implement the project-based teaching system of "4L4D+Cx"; form a comprehensive quality and ability training system for college students, implement a quality training plan for college students, and strengthen the comprehensive ability and professional quality training of students; actively explore a new model of collaborative education integrating school, government, enterprise, production and education, and jointly build the Industrial Internet Industry College and the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, and the Wuhu Ziyunying Innovation and Entrepreneurship College. Other colleges and related enterprises vigorously carry out the "one major (group) one enterprise" cooperation and construction. Since 2016, the school has won 32 Anhui Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, including 2 special prizes, 9 first prizes, and 10 second prizes. The initial graduation destination implementation rate of the past five graduates has always been at the forefront of undergraduate colleges in Anhui Province, and the average starting salary of graduates is 27% higher than that of local undergraduate colleges nationwide. The university has won 5,236 awards in provincial and above subject competitions, with a student participation rate of more than 86%. It has been listed in the national general college subject competition rankings released by the China Higher Education Society for four consecutive years, ranking second among more than 400 private colleges and universities in the country, and 11th among more than 700 newly built undergraduate colleges. Among them, in 2021, it won the gold medal in the main track of higher education in the 7th China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In 2023, it won the gold medal in the science and technology innovation and future industry track of the 13th "Challenge Cup" China College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition. In the RoboMaster Mech Masters Competition, China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge and the National College Student Intelligent Automobile Competition, it has entered the national competition and competed with double first-class universities many times and achieved excellent results. The Chinese Academy of Management Science released the "China University Evaluation". The school has been rated as a first-class private university in China for five consecutive years, ranking second in 2023. The Teacher Development Index of the China Higher Education Society ranks 16th in the country (private and independent colleges). The school's scientific research closely revolves around the positioning of application-oriented education, with horizontal topics facing actual production problems of enterprises, intellectual property rights mainly based on patents, and the construction of engineering technology centers (platforms) for integrated innovation and product development for enterprise transformation and upgrading as the three main directions. In the past five years, the school has been approved for 237 vertical projects of various types, including major science and technology projects in Anhui Province, key research and development projects in Anhui Province, natural science foundation projects in Anhui Province, humanities and social science projects of the Ministry of Education, and social science planning projects in Anhui Province, and has undertaken 454 horizontal projects. It has been approved to establish 1 national-level Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC), 5 provincial-level scientific research and innovation platforms, and 9 municipal-level ones. A total of 6,553 patents of various types have been applied for, of which the proportion of applications by students as the first inventor has increased year by year. In 2023, the total number of applications was 1,101, and students accounted for 81.65%. In 2023, at the 75th Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition in Germany, the invention patent projects selected by our school won 2 international gold medals. It has been listed in the top 100 invention patents in Anhui Province for four consecutive years, ranking 42nd in 2023. In the "2022 Annual Comprehensive Competitiveness Report of China's Applied Undergraduate Universities", the school's invention patent authorization volume ranked 40th in the country (670 applied undergraduates) and 3rd among private undergraduates. The school was approved as a "National Smart Education Platform Pilot School", "National Party Building Model Branch", "Anhui Province's 'Three-dimensional Education' Comprehensive Reform Pilot University", and "Anhui Province Higher Education Smart Campus Construction Pilot University".
